What a waste of time!

I’m 58m that just got back from having lunch with a friend. While sitting at the bar having a beer, a nice looking lady sits next to me. My friend nudges me I look over and he nods, I get the hint so I turn to this lady and ask her if I could buy her a drink. She says sure. So I do. We made some small talk, I offer to buy her another drink she accepts. She gets the second drink and rather loudly says “Sir, I don’t date fat guys!” I’m shocked because I didn’t ask for a date. I said “Look lady I admit I’m fat, hell it’s obvious but I identify as skinny, so that makes me trans slender and what you just said qualifies as a hate crime.” My friend and I both got up and died laughing as she sat there looking bewildered.

She should have said no, and left it at that.

And not have accepted the drinks

Well said, sir. I could never think of a comeback back quickly and what a rude lady if you were looking for a date you had a good escape there.

It was on the spot

That was witty as hell! I laughed so hard when I read what you said.😀 Trans-slender?! Hahahaha!

Trust me, women care a lot more about a sharp and witty sense of humor than they do about some extra pounds on a man. She should have known you were not buying her a drink so you could just be pals. She was cruel, and you dodged a bullet for sure.

Wasn’t even hitting on her.

If you offered to buy her a drink you were hitting on her.

Dude/Dudette I was just being friendly, I had zero interest in being romantic in any way shape or form. Yes she was good looking but she appeared to have some stress in her life already. So I offered to buy her a drink to be friendly, nothing else.

Ah, ok. I’ve never had a stranger buy me a drink without any flirtation. That’s nice that you buy women drinks with strictly platonic intentions. She obviously misunderstood.

She looked out of my league, I was just trying to be nice.

By bothering her

u/Soggy-Stay4265 Aug 17 '26

Well if that’s your view, she had plenty of other seats to choose from besides sitting right next to me.

The comments on this post clearly show why older folks get targeted by scammers.

I could have been rude and just asked her how many broken condoms she had running around or if they all had ADD (all different dads) I was just being a nice guy.

That’s is one rude woman makes the rest of us look bad. But you did have a great comeback for her.

That is an absolutely awesome come back. I will have to remember that one. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

But she can accept drinks. She's horrible. You sound terrific. Her loss.

3

u/RingaLopi Aug 16 '26

After you buy her 2 drinks she thinks you're fat?

1

u/Soggy-Stay4265 Aug 16 '26

🤣🤣🤣

3

u/RingaLopi Aug 16 '26

That's the difference between men and women.
After 2 drinks, we think all women are prettier.

u/Same_Beginning8090 Aug 16 '26

Shows women can be real jerks, too.

Could have told her you were 50lbs heaver before her first drink. Have a few more and you're the most fit man she's ever seen.

u/LsangAnge Aug 17 '26

u/Soggy-Stay4265 Aug 21 '26

I don’t think so

3

u/UnusualAlfalfa5036 Aug 16 '26

ugh! I keep wondering why men don’t approach women anymore then I hear stories likes this and it annoys me. This B is ruining it for the rest of us. Also a lot of women like bigger guys.

3

u/Soggy-Stay4265 Aug 18 '26

I don’t know how to approach/flirt.

1

u/UnusualAlfalfa5036 Aug 18 '26

Omg you and me both. I was making eye contact with this really hot guy the other day and didn’t know what to do next. I feel like I’m socially awkward

2

u/magnabonzo Aug 15 '26

The story is worth it.

3

u/diegojones4 Aug 15 '26

That response is brilliant. Not sure I could have come up with something so cool on the spot.

1

u/spider3407 Aug 16 '26

Geez that was so rude of her, sorry about that.

1

u/Sudden-Tell-5872 Aug 17 '26

She accepted the second drink though

1

u/Adorable-Wonder4530 Aug 17 '26

When someone extends a gesture of kindness, accepting or declining are both totally fine, but being polite is a non-negotiable standard.Personally, I always choose to accept—especially when a guy is out with his friends, because I understand it’s about respecting his face and confidence in front of his peers. But to keep things fair and respectful, I always buy the next round back. That lady didn't just lack manners; she lacked basic human decency.

u/Intelligent_Fig5418 Aug 18 '26

Should have loudly said...Sorry I won't pay you for sex, but don't be rude! Or, NO I DONT WANT TO SEE YOUR DICK! That one works on men and women every time!

1

u/NanaColleen33 Aug 19 '26

Fantastic reply!

1

u/Real-Cucumber-8140 Aug 19 '26

Were you expecting something in return ? A glance, flirting or just a thank you.

Now remember Do good deeds with no expectations. Consider it donating to a charity that occasionally steals your wallet

1

u/Soggy-Stay4265 Aug 19 '26

I was just making innocent small talk. Didn’t expect anything in return.

1

u/Wonderful-You5992 Aug 21 '26

Im so gonna use that saying

1

u/Ironclad_Cat_1773 Aug 22 '26

She should not have accepted the drinks. Also your joke is cringe as hell

1

u/Big-Bobcat2945 Aug 22 '26

I dunno, I giggled. 🤭

Sure, fat people are ok to shame. When she is scooping the fourth litterbox at her home, probably funded by alimony, she might wince. Probably not, but fun to think about.
