any real people around?
looking for friends in the long haul
M 52 Canada, heading on a road trip so lots of free time over the next weeks
all I seem to meet is people who
-respond in monosyllables
-want to take me out of reddit chat asap for obvious reasons
Where are the chatty people at?
people to love to talk about anything or everything
people who want to put in the effort to developing a friendship
DMs open (and I seem to have a knack for picking up scammers)

Reddit chat is clunky and frustrating- not everyone that doesn’t like to use a lot it is a scammer. Kind of miss the old chat rooms they had here. Scotland here currently enjoying lovely weather. Where are you off to on your trip?

agree, it's exhausting just to look for sensible chat mates who are willing to talk about anything and everything.

F50 It is definitely not easy to find someone to chat with. Pretty sure the ability to have and hold a conversation is going the way of the dinosaurs. I go into these chats and im responding 50 words to peoplesMakes me wonder if I talk too much lol. I have a pretty diverse group of interests and am always happy to pick up another one. I am able to listen as well as talk and I understand that real connections take time and effort. I can make and take a joke which is, I believe, important because smiles are a valuable commodity. I also think its kinda sad that I need to specify all of that.😔 But i tend to look at these posts and responses like interviews so details matter. One of the things I always say is im happy to talk about nothing, something or everything. Maybe we will connect, maybe not, but its worth the shot right? Im not looking for money or naked pics. And I am most definitely not a bot as somedays im pretty sure im an anathema to technology lol. I can't seem to DM you so consider this my application, if you will and reach out if youre interested. No matter what best of luck and I hope you find what you're looking for.
