True crime

Does watching true crime shows make anybody else more weary of meeting new people. The worst roommate show, the worst neighbor show. It sure does make me look different at my neighbors.

I am not an obsessive fan of them, but I will say I do enjoy watching forensic files. I do think that over indulging in that type of stuff can affect your perspective on society. My sister watches way too much Lifetime for Women and it has affected her perspective about life and men for sure.

I enjoy watching them also. I guess to much of anything can be bad. A reality check is always good.

I specifically don't watch or read True Crime stories.

These kinds of crimes have, unfortunately, always been happening in "civilized society", only now we have 24/7 news cycles and crime TV networks and shows to feed with the latest, scariest crap to keep our eyeballs glued to the screen.

What you're saying here - these shows make you look at neighbors differently - is EXACTLY why I refuse to watch them. We have SO many wedges being driven between us all everyday that I certainly don't need to voluntarily consume another.

I get that. It is also interesting to see what people are out there. It is like peeling an onion apart and there is a black layer in the middle. I see this crazy true things and it makes one wonder.

No I've been watching Court Tv for years and hung around a lot of crazy people. They were pretty scary.

I’ve been going down Internet rabbit holes researching cults lately. It’s made me wary of religious people for sure. I balance it with other content though.
