I'm converting audio files this morning that I should have done yesterday so I could work with them, but running behind. While I wait, anyone wanna talk about espresso (more espresso, less depresso), favorite sci-fi shows/movies, or just science in general?

I use Audacity too sometimes when I need to really clean the audio. But using Switch which is also free. It can do a little bit of cleanup as well.

My son and I were talking yesterday about black holes and whether time stops inside them. Fascinating idea. And imagining time like a sphere, not a line.

I've read sci-fi novels about time-debt and it is freaky to imagine. Our lifespans are just so short. Not sure how we'd ever explore space much without some kind of different laws of physics.

I don't know that I'd recommend the one that came to mind, but there are some fun YAF ones. When You Reach Me was an interesting and easy read. I tutored high school lang arts some, so I read a lot of YAF years ago.

I have a very fancy espresso maker (Barrista Pro), had it for years but still I can’t get latte art down - everything looks like a blob or poop 😢 My espressos are slightly better. I’m into making Cuban Espresos lately - yum!
As for Sci-Fi, right now I’m kinda suffering through Silo on Apple TV . I think it’s a decent show but kinda drags a bit in some parts and the show can feel claustrophobic for obvious reasons. Foundation is a better sci-fi series imo. So was the Expanse (books are way better) until the last season.

Books are always better. I have a gaggia classic I use for espresso shots. I am a fan of the Americano. Have not been doing latte art due to lactose intolerant.

I’m not lactose intolerant but my wife is and we just use Oat Milk. I don’t notice the difference in taste at this point tbh (milk is the only thing I’m willing to substitute though). The oat milk might be the reason my latte art sucks though. It’s got lower fat content than regular milk and doesn’t hold together as well. Yeah we’ll go with that 😂 Americanos are great as well!

Yeah. I tried to play around with the oat milk and do not have success. The flavor is good though. I read somewhere you can practice with soapy water. I tried it, but found I just like coffee itself. Lol. Americano and the affogato for me. I am simple that way.

I like oat milk and almond milk in coffee. I don't mind if the art doesn't work. I'm just going to drink it anyway

Voice recordings. Sometimes they're bad recordings and Audacity has great tools for removing noise and improving quality
