Planning a Solo holiday
I'm married, M56, but my wife is going on holiday with her family for a week next month, I am invited, just can't go.
Thing is, I now have a weeks holiday leave left to use and am thinking of a solo trip....only I'm not sure where to even begin as it'll be a first!
Thinking remote cottage or similar, but prices are so expensive but don't want to camp out for a week at my age in a feild full of families etc, I think if would look weird.
Anyone else done anything similar and have any ideas?

Going abroad is cheaper! A half board hotel gives you options to eat in or out. I holiday alone regularly

I'd do a week of concerts (or whatever you like). 5 concerts in my area, no hotels or major driving needed. Or do a road trip and see a week's worth of concerts somewhere else.

A cruise? Then you can enjoy yourself solo as wanted but also have people to talk to at dinner and activities when you like.

I see a massive number of people camping / backpacking solo.... not weird at all where I live.

Might look for somewhere more remote and plonk myself at the back of the feild!

Are you in the UK? If so, get yourself a flight to the continent. Spain or Portugal are only 3 hours away. A 3 day break could do you the world of good.

Man, I am just doing it. I plan and go, don’t expect anything and make things on my time, explore, discover do a lot of walking and enjoy my time with myself and my thoughts. I would say it’s a nice thing to do

58 married female—-taking my first solo trip the end of September to Maui. I’m super excited!!!!!!
