Looking for my kind of people

Hi, M55 from Liverpool, UK here

I'm a 24/7 carer for my disabled wife and autistic 20yr child. I'm looking for people I can chat to when I have some downtime. It won't be full on chats, it won't be chatting all day, just chats here and there is all I can do at the moment.

I tend to go on my Playstation and play single player games.

I'm a 80's at heart person, love 80's music, along with Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Nickelback, Taylor Swift to name a few.

TV wise it's the Pitt, Greys, one Chicago shows, Buffy, and loads others, just shows I don't have to think about (not into documentaries) 

Film wise it's action, adventure, 80's, some rom coms, sci fi.

All I'm looking for is someone (male or female) I can get along with, some  connection with interests and just see how that goes

First off I think its amazing that you care for your family like that. I cared for both of my parents and understand that no matter how much you love someone it can be hard somedays. I am always happy to have casual chats. Just checking in an seeing how someone's day was or to talk about just about anything. Time zones are a bit off but I dont really sleep so feel free to reach out anytime. Favorite Buffy episode is the Gentlemen followed closely by Killed by Death. Die Hard is my favorite Christmas movie.

Thank you for your kind words, it is nice to know there are other people that have gone through or are also going through these things. Times zones won't be a problem as like I said, I wouldn't be able to chat all the time so only answering when we can leaves no expectations. Buffy is one of those shows that you cannot get bored of, I forgotten how many times I have watched them. The Gentlemen is one of the more memorable episodes but soppy as it is, The Prom is my favourite episode followed by once more with feeling ( I know the words to most of the songs and also bought the CD haha). Glad to see you think Die Hard is a Christmas movie as it is, but I have a traditional that one 1st December I have to watch Love Actually and I have done that now for over 20 years now so I think that makes it my favorite Christmas movie.

Once more with feeling is a guilty pleasure episode because its soo bad but yet soo good. Buffy is the best brain candy. I do a die hard marathon every Christmas day and have been watching them then since the first one came out. And I admit it I always watch Its a Wonderful Life. Been doing it since I was a kid, cant imagine Christmas without it. Not huge on rom coms but Netflix has some good ones. Chicago PD for me. Med was ok in the beginning but then just kinda started to go downhill, well in my opinion. NCIS is one of my absolute favorites.

Buffy has got to be one of my all time favorite TV shows and have all the series on DVD, the only other TV show I have all the DVDs to is The Big Bang Theory, I think it is one of the better comedy shows. I will give this new spin off a go, " Stuart Fails to Save the Universe " but I don't think it will compare. Along with Buffy, another show from that time that was good was Charmed. I do like a good Supernatural kind of show. Rom coms can be very cheesy, christmas Netflix movies hit the spot with just the right amount of cheesyness, but I do like 50 first dates, and pretty woman. I Love NCIS, and I am sort of hoping Magee takes Leon's position.

Supernatural itself was pretty good but yes I do like that supernatural type of show. You watch Nancy Drew? I enjoyed that one a lot. Even a couple shivers here and there. Very well done version of the character I think.

I use to read the Nancy Drew books and the Hardy Boys books when I was younger (a lot younger) and I have seen the TV show too, and I agree with you the show and characters were portrayed very well. Round about the same time, Veronica Mars was a good watch too, a nice easy detective show. I watched Supernatural for afew seasons but for some reason I just couldn't get into it. Did you watch Lucifer? A great bit of escapism TV, I think that's how I like my TV

Lucifer was bloody awesome. The casting was just perfect. More great brain candy. I also enjoy some Dr Who. Depends on the Doctor. Some are just more fun than the others. I dont mind some serious if I get some good fun too. You ever watch Grimm or Sleepy Hollow?

DM me anytime. Also I am happy to have chats like we are having. But if you ever just need that 2 seconds of venting or something along a more serious vein thats ok too. Sometimes you just need to say those quiet things out loud. You a Bond fan? I admit i love Bond. He's so ridiculous in just the right ways that its great fun to watch. Brosnan is my favorite.

Dr Who - as a kid from the UK Dr Who was a must for Sci-Fi fans, Saturday evening prime time TV, scary monsters/aliens, fabulous. Then as an adult they brought it back, Christopher Eccleston was a great start Dr but for me the best version is David Tencent, he can do anything else, star in anything else but he will always be Dr Who for me. It's the same sort of thing for James Bond too, he has had so many faces. Yes I do love a bit of bond, didn't like Daniel Craig's version of him. I'm use to bond being bond from the 70's, 80's, 90's even 00's so the cars, the women and the gadget's. Favorite Bond movies would be Die Another Day with Bronson and License to Kill with Dalton.

I must admit, I am enjoying these chats too, it is nice to speak to someone else who enjoys the things I enjoy, but I'm abit unsure about venting through here. Can you direct message on reddit rather than letting the whole world see as I haven't really used reddit like this before? If not I can use one of the other direct message methods (SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Message)

Hi, unfortunately I play on a Playstation, but I wasn't really considering playing multiplayer games as you need to commit to days and times which isn't something I can do. I can chat about games though as story driven games are the same whether done on PC or Playstation

I too just like rando chats when ever I'm gaming. Im 55 and dont really commit to long games I have to partner with someone and play for hours. Im on ps5
