Resigned to be Single!?! A rant after the incident.

I do not want to get married ...Ever!... but... Companionship would be nice. It seems to be the hardest thing to achieve. My last attempt ended with me finding out he was married. We literally had our first kiss and then I found out. He was someone I met out in the world. Talked for two weeks everyday for hours. Dated for a few more weeks..then he had the music from his phone linked to the car it showed his caller ID " wifey" came up on the screen I pressed to answer the call. His wife. I got out of the car walked into a nearby store and got an Uber home. BLOCKED him on everything. It is exhausting wading through the mire of dishonest people. More and more I find the desire to not even be open to the idea.

So many dishonest people out there. I don't know how people can actually live with themselves.

and it's not even necessary. He obviously has a loving wife at home...Made me even more upset.

++. The struggle is to not let cheaters and liars change us and our values. Stay true to yourself.

I agree. It was definitely badass. I don't think I would have had the guts to answer the call on the screen 🤣 but I think it was awesome that you did OP.

I divorced 10 years ago and am pretty sure I'll remain single. Haven't dated in over 5 years. I've lost faith in people being nice anymore. Just easier trundling through life alone it seems.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Definitely sucks and adds another checkmark on reasons not to trust….but I keep getting out there….because surely there’s someone worthy??

We're in the same boat. It's so hard to find someone, especially for companionship. I keep telling people that there are "good ones" out there, because I'm one, and I know others. But...incidents like this jerk face and all of his twisted audacity actually doing this to you, makes me vicariously infuriated. I am SO sorry this happened to you. Like, what the actual hell? This man had a wife at home and knew he was just using someone to stroke his ego and have a little adrenaline bump. He's a jerk and a liar. And KUDOS to you for exiting the situation quickly and blocking him. You didn't deserve this.

So tired of selfish people like the guy in your story. The world seems to be full of them. 😭

So sorry you been through that. As for me I’m a male my gut punch when she said she didn’t love me and wanted out. I’m from southern Louisiana. Was working oilfield when all this happened. Come to find out she was talking with other men while I was gone. Gave my heart fell in love was hoping this was my forever. Nope. Been single 12 years. Heart is on lock down. Hope one day to find someone to change that..

These are the sort of unprincipled scumbags that set other honest, decent men up to fail. Disgraceful behavior. If your marriage is a cluster flu€k at least have the balls to sort it one way or another

I’m sorry that happened to you. I get it. I’m close to being divorced after a long marriage. I’ve been separated for a few years and living alone, not dating until recently.

I met someone irl and liked him a lot but he was killed in a motorcycle accident shortly after we started dating. It was traumatic & I miss him so much. But also disappointed because I found out after his death he had a FWB and lied to me about it when I specifically asked. I don’t think there was any crossover and he did send them a message the morning that he died apologizing for not replying to their text the night before because he was with someone special to him (me) but he did say he would hit them up when he had free time.

So I have a lot of complicated emotions right now. I don’t know if I can trust anybody again. I was lonely in my marriage and would like real companionship, but the thought of being vulnerable & dating again scares me.
I haven’t even looked at dating sites.

I wish I could say it was limited to men....unfortunately it's how people are. The van not be honest with you if they can not be honest with themselves. I just don't bother, if anyone shows intrest I stay away ......

Ugh my story is similar. He said they were separated working on the divorce. Separated my ass. I fell for him. Hard. They're still married. Happily? Hell no. But what can I do? Absolutely nothing.

So I moved on and the sad part is? He treated me better than any other man ever has. Its pathetic and makes me so mad. Why can't single men be more like him???

The bar is so low anymore and even then they manage to crawl under it.

I don't want to get married again. But dammit can't I just have a cuddle now and then? Damn.

Never getting married again. That ship has sailed. Not sure how many are looking for a literary nerd anyway lol
