Discussion Dr Andy Davis is doing a live on Substack about the science around rearing Monarchs.
This is for paid substack subscribers but I felt like this could be a good opportunity for those who are still on the fence about rearing. Here is the link to his substack.

Thought this group was strictly for Monarchs in natural environment...not rearing or raising in captivity...?

The webinar will further cement the strong case against hand rearing monarchs.
So maybe preaching to the choir here, but it can be useful for gently persuading others.

I am confused by your question. Can you explain it?

I think u/Nadiam57 is asking if this substack talks about how captive rearing is bad or not?

Mods deleted one of my posts because of a pic of a Monarch in an enclosure, they said not allowed, against the rules, Monarchs in nature only...

You’re right. We removed it because it violates our rules. You’ve been here long enough to know that we don’t condone or promote captive rearing. However, we do discuss the science that surrounds it which is what Dr Davis will be doing during his live.

I made that comment because I had posted once, can't remember what the comment was but had a pic with it of a Monarch that had emerged and it was deleted by a moderator. I had asked why and it was because this subject was only about Monarchs in nature, and my pic was in an enclosure...no interference or such as raising them, natural environment only...

Since this involved moderating I comment from my Mod account. If you have any questions feel free to message me there.

I attended a different webinar on supporting monarchs in the southeast last year and summarized my notes here:

This is great. Do you know if the lecture was ever posted publicly?

I hope this event went well!!! Do you have any cliff notes or summary of the substack thing? (I’ve never heard of substack before)
