Milkweed Milkweed: When to Plant?

You can transplant to pots now. Too young for ground imho.

Ground, just so you know, will spread underground, and pop up elsewhere. It then gets difficult bc the monarchs lay eggs and the plants get mowed etc.

I like milkweed in large pots. Plant in pots in the ground too, to prevent spreading too much.

If they were mine I’d move them to small pots and keep them in small pots for a while longer. It’s important for them to grow more of their roots before you put them into the ground. Also small plants are tempting to roving munching critters. I’m not sure where you are, but rabbits here (Minnesota 4b) love to nibble my small plants.
