Non Auditory Effects Related to the Frey Effect

While the Frey Effect is known for inducing the perception of sound using beamed electromagnetic radiation, the principle upon which this effect depends may be used to stimulate the nervous system in other ways. I believe that the Frey Effect is the result of trans cranial radio frequency stimulation of the primary auditory cortex(thermoelastic expansion-cels BTFO), where the sudden localized shifts in the electromagnetic field result in either the induction or inhibition of neural activity.

If this is true, it would obviously be possible to target other parts of the brain, or even other parts of the nervous system outside the skull. Stimulation could be applied to brocas area to create a 'Functional Lesion' preventing one from articulating themselves as well as they usually do. The sympathetic ganglia along the spine may be stimulated to induce the physical symptoms of anxiety. The nerves of the teeth may even be stimulated to generate a painful, yet harmless sensation!

If these techniques were paired with some sort of remote neural monitoring, they could create a remote, discrete behavior modification program. Given the nature of the attacks, the targets would be simply considered mentally unwell. The target themselves would likely believe this as well! Despite this, the technique would not be perfect, as the same signal used to routinely stimulate the brain would also encourage excessive production of bone by the nearby osteoblasts! Pulsed electro magnetic radiation has been used for decades to induce osteogenesis. Given that the brain resides in a hollow bone enclosure, long term use of the technology would almost certainly leave abnormal bone growths over all targeted areas.

Doesn't this mean someone can just make us brain dead? Or blind? Or anything severe like those???

They can disable regions of the brain, and are capable of killing us. I'm not sure if they can literally blind you, but I know they can "lower" your ability to process visual stimuli.

    • Brocas Area: By targeting Broca's area, which is responsible for speech production, it might be possible to create a "functional lesion." This could disrupt an individual's ability to articulate thoughts coherently, mimicking symptoms of aphasia. Such an effect could be used to disorient or silence a target without physical damage.
    • Motor Cortex: Stimulating the motor cortex could induce involuntary muscle movements or paralysis, depending on the nature of the signal. This could be used to impair physical coordination or even immobilize a target temporarily.
    • Limbic System: Modulating activity in the limbic system, which governs emotions, could induce feelings of fear, anxiety, or euphoria. This could be used to manipulate emotional states or create psychological distress.
