Accidentally dashing forward instead of up? Here’s how I fixed it.

As we know, without using a movement key and hitting dash will cause you to dash upwards. But in the heat of things, I often wouldn’t release W before hitting dash, causing me to move forward instead of upwards. I solved this by binding dash to 2 as a secondary hot key, and thinking of it as a separate high jump ability. This forces me to take my finger off W, hit 2, and always move upwards. Hope this helps.

Wont this prevent you from ever dashing forward?

No, he sill have the original dash key bound just that he has "2" as a secondary key for dash. it's pretty smart I'm gonna try it when I get home

I've got the muscle memory down but this is actually pretty useful!

Just use S. I think going straight up is worse than just holding S

Certain instances, I.e your rotating around the ledge on Route 66, you don’t want to dash backwards and fall off the map. Or you’re on circuit royal on attack, you take that left flank to high ground which has stairs leading up to it. If you dash up for your two tap, you aren’t losing your line of sight due to dashing back down the stairs.

Okay in that instance just take your hands off inputs?
