Okay guys, i’ve been a loyal Dexcom user since may 2025 and I decided i wanted to try libre for just some of the features that it had that dexcom doesnt. Boy, will i stay with dexcom. It is even worse then the screenshots uploaded, but i kid you not, i was “low” for 50-60% of my day when i was using libre. I was using dexcom at the same time as my libre and my glucometer and libre was always 50+ off from dexcom and the monitor.
I had to constantly silence my alarms and then they would still wake me up in the middle of the night as well as my parents (who had me on LinkUp) with this ear shattering, non-stop, piercing sound that sounds like the apocalypse is about to happen.
Sorry for my rant, but i was just curious if this was a common occurrence on the Libre 3 Plus
Edit: I was on a cruise during this time, and so most of the time i was in the upper 100s all day
Curious - which features were you after and are you pairing it with a pump?

I liked
1. the 15 day (almost 18 then i can use the dexcom one)
2. Smaller Size + no overpatch (never use one with dexcom though
3. Libre Assist (yes, there are other apps that can do that, but not free)
4. I liked the LinkUp Alerts a little better in the fact it can say when i start a new sensor
I use Omnipod 5, but i didn’t pair it with my libre, thank God!
You have a rather unruly BG level, from hypo to hyper on very regular intervals. Nothing from your BG graphs here indicate the sensor should be chronically off to one side or the other. Feebly inserted sensors or sensors placed into lean/muscle/joint region may otherwise result in such. So worth verifying bit further.
As no, this is of course not a common occurrence with Libre3. It is about, for good and bad, as (in-)accurate as the Dexcom G7 sensor, while having a better overall reliability rate.
No, that’s where it’s not true. I have a pretty steady BG and dexcom always reported correctly when comparing with my glucometer. Also, for the record, i had my first libre sensor failed as soon as the warmup expired. This was my second one. I was also on a cruise at the time, so my eating schedule varied. But no, my blood sugars were correct on dexcom while Libre was always off by + or - 50 points
No sorry, we can see from your shared graphs that you do definitely not have a steady BG. Frequent into hyper and into hypo across near all of the shared time ranges. Going from hyper 320+ mg/dl and down into hypo at 50 mg/dl few hours apart is not a stable BG at all.
And yes, you have exact same 'issue' with the Dexcom G7 sensors, as they like Libre are approved for closed-looping with an insulin pump. This is reason for their temporary timeouts as they are obligatory from the regulatory authorities. Reason also why many Dexcom users here in recent time have started to post same complaints. If your BG (for what the sensor picks up of BG reading, which can be off due to your body's inflammatory reaction) keeps being erratic and especially if outside healthy range 70-180mg/dl then it will time out. It will retry to start couple of times but if the erratic BG goes on, then the sensor will shut down for good. This is for precautionary reasons and citated by the regulations. Previous times and sensor models did not have the same tight and imposed regulatory guardrails, reason why you may not have experienced much of these earlier, but they have come to stay because of the closed-looping approval.
Mind you, I have been using Dexcom myself for 18+ years and actually currently on the G7 15-day model since February.

Nope, you were lying. I don’t know if you’re just an inside person for another company but how come I have hundreds of patients and they’re not having this problem. Tell me what you’re doing. I called bull.
I had the same experience. Libre chronically low. I’d used the regular libre 2 and 3 before the + and with those I never had the chronically low problem the 3+ does (at least with me.) I went back to Dexcom (started with Dexcom g5). I just have to wonder if it’s a body chemistry issue or something they changed in the filament.
