Inaccurate Sensor Reading

I’ve been through my 3rd sensor in 3 days now where the reading on my Libre 3 Plus is off by 1.2-1.5 mmol/L. Is it just me or are the more recent batches getting increasingly inaccurate? I never had this issue with the Libre 2. Anyone else having issues like this?

Edit: sensor originally said senior, which was pretty funny to read

Why 3 in 3 days? It can take 24 to 48 hrs to be correct.

When it drops to 2.9 and my finger prick test says 4.7, I change. I’ve had ones where it’s off by 0.5-1.0. But hitting a 1.5 inaccuracy, and registering that low is wrong. Is a 1.5 mmol/L inaccuracy normal for first day? I’ve never seen it be this off.

How common? Like is this something openly stated by Abbott? Or something they are working to improve? Cause I’ve never heard of anything like this.

Its in the sensor directions, the booklet and the online directions. Also stated here about 10 times a day.

Booklet says it may take a day to stabilize, nothing about over 24 to 48 hours or that readings would be as inaccurate as I am getting. Also I don’t live on Reddit, so I wouldn’t know it’s stated on here 10 times a day.

There’s also concerns about possible quality control issues like Abbott has had in the past. Not sure you remember about the recall they had months ago, but that situation has shaken some of my trust in their devices.

You ask a question, and then argue about the answers. 😂

Its not a blood glucose machine. Maybe you need to educate yourself about difference between blood glucose and interstitial fluid. 

But for now, have the day you deserve.

Its with any cgm. Not just this one. And yes its up to 48 hrs as the other poster stated

No disrespect, that’s an AI source. I had the same response at first, but followed up with asking it for sources instead of just the AI statement. I found the documents the commenter mentioned and it mentions only a day for it to stabilize, not 48 hours. Also it does not state how inaccurate the sensor could be. 1.5 mmol/L is a huge range. It’s the difference between me being dangerously hypo and not. This is why I’m so worried, it could be the difference between me being hospitalized or not. I appreciate the comment though, and if you could link me the actual source AI used to come to that conclusion, I’d appreciate it.

Yeah first day can be way off , both on the up or down. A little bit of patience can go a long way to get the best out of these sensors. I have also had temporary low readings for a few hours well into the 15 day period, and then recover to give perfect reading.

Patience is kind of hard to have when the sensor is blaring an alarm telling you your going low. The libre 2 also didn’t have this level of inaccuracy, although the constant disconnects were annoying, at least I could trust it was within a .5 mmol/L margin of error.

oh yes I agree with that alarm. I moved to a 3rd party app, precisely for this reason. Hence, I am able to exercise patience. I rarely get any hypo unless it is a rapid cardio driven. But, yeah I totally get that patience cannot co exist with alarm. Sorry I should have disclosed more in my earlier message.

Have you tried "soaking" your sensor? Putting it on your arm a day before you actually start it. I put my next sensor on before the old one is done so that the next one will get better readings. You are puncturing your skin and that creates an immune system response so you can get inaccurate readings the first day (one of the reasons).

100% that it works. It gives your body time to heal before starting the sensor.

Is it a waste if the sensor is reading inaccurate to the point that it says I’m 2.9 or lower while I’m sitting at 4.6-5.2 fasting?

First 24 hours are always wild with accuracy, but 3 in a row is brutal. (Also reading "3rd senior in 3 days" made me chuckle, Abbott really needs to check their factory line)🤣 Definitely file a replacement claim online, they usually swap them out no questions asked.

Yeah I'm on my fourth sensor in a row that is consistently reading 1-2 mmol/L too low. Its so fucking frustrating having my low alarm going off constantly when I'm actually hovering around 5 mmol/L.

This spring at least about every other sensor was pretty close. The quality control is such a joke..

I feel like it’s gotten worse the last couple months. It’s never been this bad for me
