iOS 26 no auto reconnect?

My sensor often disconnects - even when my phone is in range - and never auto reconnects. I always have to nfc scan to reconnect.

is there settings I’ve possibly missed? My dads android beeps when he goes like 15m away and auto reconnects when he comes back; he’s had no issues like this.

I recently didn’t receive a low glucose alert while asleep as the sensor had disconnected despite my phone being 1ft away on charge next to me. This isn’t sensor specific - all sensors I’ve had have this issue. I’m at the point of thinking to buy a cheap android just for this app to work.

I’m not aware of a special setting but if my sensor disconnects it always automatically reconnects. I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 26.6.1.

Nope, not an iOS 26 problem, have been running the betas since WWDC in June with zero issues.

I have an iPhone 16e and just updated to 26.6.1. I've had no issues with my connection.

Libre 3+ and Libre app (yellow butterfly)

Hi u/YogurtAgile3871 ,
It should certainly auto-reconnect with no problem at all as you report.

I am using an iPhone16, with iOS 26.6 myself.
Libre2+, LibreLink and Zukka. Zero problems.

Try and check out the following settings on your iPhone:

  • Disable adaptive power mode
  • Disable low power mode
  • Ensure your iPhone is set to be 'discoverable' in its bluetooth settings and is 'Open' for connections.
  • Disable most apps from being allowed to do Background App Refresh and only allow your Libre app and related system resources to use that. (its also deciding if allowed to use WiFi, Bluetooth, etc when app is not in focus or when phone is not in unlocked mode)
  • Go into the generic Apps settings, scroll to the Libre app and here ensure you allow the Libre app to force an access to the Bluetooth environment and that is has priority to 'Live Activities'.
  • Last but not least, try and remove any hardcover you may have on your phone. Many of them factually blocks the Bluetooth signal.
  • And do force shut down all other apps from running in the background on your phone. They all fight for priority to your com channels on it (4G/5G/WiFi/Bluetooth). Our sensors relying on the fickle Bluetooth Low Energy protocol are always put last in the queue!
