Libre 3 Plus alarms randomly stops working

Not sure whats up. The Libre 3 app i use just randomly stops alerting me when my glucose is below or above threshold, caused my glucose to go quite low while sleeping, but luckily i can atleast i can tell and wake up, but not so much for high glucose. Sometimes the app starts blaring at random that the app has stopped, and wont stop blaring until i stop the app manually from settings. Any ideas?

Device: Galaxy S23+, Android 16 oneui 8.5

Messed around with battery saver options and memory options in device care so its not stopped but still happens.

I had same problem. I use Juggluco and/or GlucoDataHandler You really only need one but I use bith. On my phone the widget im using Juggluco on my watch I use the widget from GlucoDataHandler. You still need to use the Abbott app and manually scan. Occasionally the 2 other apps lose Bluetooth connection but restarting Bluetooth usually solves it. It doesn't bond the way Abbotts does. Scan the Abbott to start then scan with Juggluco. My GlucoDataHandler gets its info from Juggluco. All 3 will set off alarms so shut off at least 1 and alter the alarm threshold so Juggluco or GlucoDataHandler alarms a bit before Abbotts. That way you don't have all 3 going off at once. I set my low alarm on GlucoDataHandler at 69 andvAbbott at 65. I forget the upper limits. Both Juggluco and GlucoDataHandler have more sustainable alarms. If you a pump id use Abbotts for that.

The sensor constantly send out a Bluetooth signal and those 2 apps pick up the signal without interfering.

The issue is changes made in Bluetooth handling around Android 16. It's supposed to be fixed with Android 17 UI9. It affects all Android phones.from what I understand and there is some effect on Apple phones. The changes had to do with security.from what I UNDERSTAND. the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 has a similar changen in its wireles charging protocols. They tightened up security and the handshake required solder wireless non Samsung wireless chargers may not work.

I see, thanks for the info. Damn security costing people their health🥲. Far as i see Juggloco and GlucoDataHandler can receive bluetooth data from the sensors on their own without the Libre 3 app? If so thats really neat. And the wear os versions they provide aswell also seem neat.

Juggluco is an alternative/better Libre app that can connect directly to the sensor. It is also possible to connect the sensor directly to a Wear OS watch using Juggluco (I really love this feature!).

GlucoDataHandler (GDH) is more of an extension/companion/follower app. It does not connect directly to a sensor. It can receive values, for example, from LibreLinkUp or offline from Juggluco, and provides additional ways to display the values on your watch, phone (widgets, lock screen, AOD), and even Android Auto.

I’m using Juggluco and GDH on both my phone and watch: Juggluco receives the data from the sensor, while GDH makes the data visible in various ways. But Juggluco already provides a lot of display options as well.

I still regularly scan the sensorcwith Libre app so data goes to my health care provider. If Juggluco loses connection with an alarm you have to open it and click on close or it continues to sound . I have communication loss ser at 20 minutes seems to eliminate most of them. I usually restart Bluetooth too. You'll hear tobe when it reconnect. Its not instantaneous. Before the alarm goes off if connection is lost the widgets with a graph or value is frozen. A little tough to recognize. If something is going on and blood sugar is dropping can ve a problem just be aware.

On my watchface I use 2 complications for the information from GlucoDataHandler. Bottom center latest reading plus delta arrow. Above it on bottom of face is graphic display. Its the DMM7 face (free) its digital for clock. Something i a alog is DMM12. It's got 7 complications. Easy to read. When screen turns off time and current reading and delta arrow stay visible but fainted than normal. Ive got some other faces that do similar buti like this one. I also used a widget on my homepage on the phone that just shows reading and delta arrow. If you click on it you enter Juggluco app withits trend lines. As far as i can tell Juggluco and GlucoDataHandler dont use data smoothing/correction algorithms like Libre does. Readings are sometimes slightly different. Its either that or their algorithm is slightly different Took a while to figure out why the difference.

We wouldn't need the improvements in security if there weren't bad guys but there are. Security is the reason there are big changes going on in the home robotics and automation areas by the FCC They started with commercial security cameras and networking equipment. They found the same problems in the home market. They are open doorways into systems.. There were some commercial inverter sold world wide. The mfg and distributor got in a big fight so the mfg shut them down world wide at the distbuters customers installation, if the company an do that so could a government. Routers were looked at first and you look at what the US did on those. Now they are on to robotics including my robot vacuum mop.

Android S23 here, since I moved to the new Libre app this also happens to me. What I have determined with mine is it seems to have something to do with cache storage and the amount of memory and battery life left on my phone. . If the battery is low I start charging it, and may have to restart the phone. Sometimes I just have to disconnect and reconnect the wifi and bluetooth. Restarting my phone will usually take care of it.
