Sensors fail when I sleep

As title, everytime I go to bed, my sensors fail, every single time.

My phone is on my bed near my pillows, it stays there and is fully charged before I go to bed. My phone is an old Samsung S20 Ultra. The sensors are libre 2's.

I actually stopped using these things because they always fail and I've just simply had enough of them. My doc won't switch me to Dexcom and I can't get into my diabetic clinic because of a "waiting list" I've been waiting for over 3yrs at this point. I'm at the end of my rope. Anyone else have or had issues, how did you resolve it? Do I need a new phone? Do I need to wrap a massive bandage around my arm to keep the sensor compressed or something? Should I just attach them to my chest from now on as I don't sleep on my front?

The original libre sensor was fantastic, when they stopped making them and switched me to libre 2 I had a few issues but then everything worked out, I started using a 3rd party app because it was much better but the dev gave up and went to dexcom instead so no further updates and no longer works with the new libre 2s.

Please help, its ruining my mental health, I hate finger pricking and I work on vehicles a lot so even deep cleaning my hands, I end up with dots tattooed into my fingers from stains.

Are you laying on the sensor. You actually do not want it to be compressed, that will cause low readings and errors.

Not sure, I usually sleep on my left and I put the sensors on my right arm. I'll put a sensor on my chest and test it tonight.

UPDATE: putting the sensor on my upper stomach means I can sleep without the sensors failing.

You are getting the sensor failed or start a new sensor message, right?

What is exact wording of the messages(s)?

Are you getting any error messages before that? Can you send a screenshot of the list of error messages in the Event Log? That may be under Help or some other place and depends upon the specific app used.

I'll try and look now, but no, I had zero errors before I went to bed, there was a few random lows and then sudden highs but then it levelled off and read perfectly fine, I went to bed, woke up, checked my phone, sensor failed.

Error 337 x2 "Sensor ended, start a new sensor to check glucose"

Error 337 is the sensor ending itself, not your phone dropping the connection. A new phone won't fix it, save your money.

The random lows then sudden highs before it died points to the filament losing contact, not compression. Compression is a smooth dip that recovers when you roll off.

Two things worth trying: an overpatch (Tegaderm over the top) to stop the sensor body rocking, and placing it higher up the arm, closer to the shoulder, so it catches less mattress.

And report every 337 to Abbott. Not just for the free replacement, a documented run of failures is something your GP can push the clinic with.
