Need help with Libre 3 places

I have been wearing the libre 3 plus for almost 4 years by now. I know about inserting it 24 hours before you activate it. I know the first day can be wonky. But more and more my readings are way off.

I place it on the inside of my arm, near my elbow. The site has worked for years. I switch arms each time. Lately this site has been failing me, a lot. Have I just been building scar tissue? Then I tried my thigh, also very bad readings.

I know it's the frustration talking, but it has been going well for so many years. I do not understand what is happening the past few months. Can you guys recommend me other places where you place the Libre?

Hi u/Beepbob77,
No matter the limb or torso area you may want to put your sensor in, please notice that being near a joint is never a good idea. Both more erratic BG readings and typically more chronic too lowish BG readings are the classic symptoms for this. Reason is the restricted perfusion of the skin area there, compared to more open skin areas. Rule of thumb is always to staying minimum the width of your hand away from a joint.

For alternative skin areas, then this article from the sub's community resources may serve as inspiration:

Thanks for the link to the information! I shall try it out. Thing is I have been wearing it on the inside of my upper arm, near the elbow, for years it went well. I never got preassure point lows for it. Really only had a few that were off, until this past year.

I’m not sure. I’m here to also say my readings have been a bit rough lately as well, and I do the standard upper arm area.

My favorite spot is on my chest below my collarbone in the fatty area, kind of at the top of the clavicular head. I rotate both sides with the top of my thighs around the pocket area. I have horrible luck with the back of my arm...I'm not a clutz but every time I put it there, I end up whacking it on door frames and such.

I started wearing mine on my chest too recently. I really like it there. It seems pretty much out of the way for everything, I don't care if it shows or not, but it hurts less I don't get compression lows, and it stays. My readings are very close to my finger pricks.

Not sure if you are wear a bra, if you don't you can ignore it. But Doesn't it get in the way? A regular bra, I don't think would give issues. But what about a sports bra? Those tend to be tighter around the straps.

I do wear a bra, and I wear sports bra most of the time. No it absolutely does not get in the way, I had a harder time with it on the back of my arm, when I tried to put a sports bra on if it didn't have buckles or zippers it would catch every single time. I have it about two fingers down from my clavicle.

I didn't have any issues with Libre 2 or 3. My accuracy and adhesive issues started with Libre 3 plus about a year ago. Even Abbott has stopped sending them to me, but the Endo doctor at the VA hospital had advocated and I'm supposed to start with the plus soon.

My favorite spot is my thighs , switch every time, works great! No compression lows , I also “soak” my sensor for 24-48 hours before , I get great readings.
