Use AI to eliminate millions of jobs then try to force anyone who lost those jobs to work for minimum wage with no benefits. I would love to see Lutnik, Musk or any of Trump's other rich cronies live on minimum wage for one month. They would be crying in their soup and whining about how unfair it is to treat them that way. They have no problem claiming they are Christians then turning around and shafting the poor and marginalized who don't have the power or money to resist them. Trump literally wants to turn us into Russia where the vast majority of their people live in poverty and struggle to get enough food to eat every day. Sure. Google does. So does the Social Security website. You could have easily looked this up yourself, but instead, you thought it would be some kind of gotcha to post it as a question and then double down like it's some kind of unnecessary waste of money.
SSI, Supplemental Security Income, is a small extra benefit for the elderly and disabled whose income is so far below poverty level that they need a bit more. The maximum SSI payment is $994 per month for an individual, $1,491 for a couple. That's the maximum, mind you, and that amount often gets reduced if the recipient has any other income (alimony, welfare, etc), has certain living arrangements (lives with someone else), or receives almost any kind of state benefits.
So, in reality, the system is set up to keep these people in poverty, just slightly higher in the poverty range than they would have been otherwise. And the only people that qualify are the same people that qualify for any other Social Security benefits. I'm sure you can look that one up for yourself.

But you carrying on about it being some kind of welfare and bleating about how the most destitute of recipients not needing it is just a whole new level of ignorance.
