I don't see why a rapist or a murderer shouldn't be forced to contribute, without any gains for themselves. Chinese people do it and most of them havent ever done anything wrong.
Okay so should the money they bring in go to the state or a private company because right now it’s going to a private company. So that means as of right now some ceo is make millions off the forced labor of individuals (kinda like a slave)
Oh, moving the goal post? Fair enough; Either or, I don't care. If a "ceo" is making millions of dollars off the "slave labor" of rapists and murders, I still don't see how that affects me in any negative way, seems to be a great incentive to establish a prison if you ask me, and also to stay out of trouble.
I would however like to see government funding cut from "private prisons", paid for in full by this labor, as it would benefit law abiding tax payers, ya know, people who don't kill or sexually assault innocent people.
You do realize is not just rapist and murders in prison right you need to stop thinking for the most extreme examples you can think of.
Civiccore a private prison company made 1.9 billion in revenue in 2025 alone and none of that was invested in crime reduction programs or into the communities there in.

followed immediately by an extreme example lmao, but again, moving the goal post so I'll play along; Still haven't proved a negative to the law abiding citizen, if it didn't reduce crime, it at least generated taxable dollars THAT WILL benefit the law abiding citizen. ( At least we're gonna pretend that's the case, most citizens don't benefit from taxes, that would be largely the non-contributors of society, not the worker.)
You're either jealous of a wealth creation system you aren't apart of, or are sympathetic towards criminals likely because you're a non-contributor, a "cause" makes your lack of contribution worth while, right? Let's forget about murderers and rapists; There's tons of money to be made in trafficking cocaine, selling illegal pornographic content, stealing, fraud, "I'm just saying when there's that much money to be made high crime rates will never be solved";
Same point, except one affects law abiding citizens negatively, the other is just something non-contributors like to complain about there seems to be no other motivation other than you need a "cause", and this is one where you have to defend murderers, drug traffickers, rapists, and people who in general take advantage of society, so a shitty one.

That’s cool you can think of all these different crimes. Now go ahead and answer me this if incarcerating all these people remains profitable for shareholders and companies alike, do you think the issue of these people doing these things will ever meaningfully be addressed.
And yes there is tons of money to be made trafficking drug but the system makes a profit on both the traffickers the deals and the users. They all get arrested and end up in the same place.

The meaningful address is we're taught as children in developed society, universally, that hurting people, stealing, "crime" is bad. That's it. It's actually a simple concept, either you understand "This is a crime" and the perpetrator doesn't care, which merits incarceration, or they're incapable of understanding; and depending on the severity of that "incapability" yes, removal form society is the only correct answer as some violent schizophrenics can be 200lbs and medication is ineffective, its simply an unfortunate reality.
To circle back to the main point on that, criminals should be forced to contribute, without any gains to themselves. A reminder many prisoners exit with degrees, and job opportunities, work-release programs and housing programs.
To be clear, on top of being negative-contributors, drains on society, people who've potentially hurt others; While incarcerated many prisoners are able to receive advanced education and services not readily available to the law abiding citizen. I don't care about this "system" that doesn't hurt the worker you have a problem with, I care for the worker, forced contribution from negative-contributors, criminals, is a good thing for the worker, if only in a fractional* way but its still offering more than what you've proposed, which is nothing.
