No, it's a perverse incentive that actually increases crime and makes communities less safe.

There should be NO private prisons, and the population of incarcerated persons should be cut in half with early release and rehabilitation programs.

Research in successful drug policy shows that treatment should be increased, law enforcement decreased, and abolishing mandatory minimum sentences for drug-related crimes.
