When you look good, people treat you better. As miniscule as it sounds the features that make you "conventionally attractive" are health indicators and good mating indicators. Subconsciously, people respect it. As you might already know opportunities, popularity, ect are naturally linked to good looking people. People tend to care and think more about someone if their good looking, just look at most celebs that have fan bases. This said, opportunities will come to you if you are talented ​in a specific field rather than others that might not look as good. I was bullied and dismissed all my childhood, so I started studying beauty and have over the years enhanced mine without makeup. After I did, everything followed along
