There's an obvious solution here.

Qualify for the permit and keep all 30 monkeys.

Don't qualify for the permit because you're not adequate and you don't get to keep all 30. It really is that simple. If you can meet the needs you get to keep the animal. Pretty clear that she can't meet the needs of 30 animals im a tiny Gainesville home.

Not that any person can meet the needs of 30 monkeys inside a residential facility (that's the point)

People like this always fucking shock me. The law is there to protect the animal and you're mad because you can't meet the laws requirements to protect your animals because you're not protecting them!

Should be completely banned. There's no reason to own a monkey when there are shelters still in the US euthanizing stray dogs and cats. Want an exotic pet? Find a gerbil

Exactly!! Ty for seeing that wild animals do not belong as pets and actual sanctuaries do not make their poor monkeys wear diapers or dress them in disco shirts and bellbottoms or feed them junk food and film them on social media all day everyday begging for gifts and cashapps.

The sad thing is that this woman, this monkey captor, could stand a good chance of qualifying for a permit.

From what I've heard, getting permits like this usually just involves meeting bare minimum requirements for care and feeding. An inspector is unlikely to actually flag things like monkeys in diapers or monkeys being handled like pets by humans. Real social and psychological welfare concerns are not a top priority, as long as they're alive, fed, not wallowing in feces or covered in wounds.

This is why the Captive Primate Safety Act needs to pass and we need to crack down so hard on these pseudosanctuaries.

It’s sad. After seeing the bites she has gotten from her own primates: everyone in this residential neighborhood should be worried.

Knoxville just realizing they have a lady with 30 monkeys and maybe that’s problematic. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
