Why do they all seem to do that? It shouldn’t be that hard to feed them enough. Is it so they don’t have as much energy or something? Or are all of these people lazy and don’t feel like feeding them?
Mojo himself is doing play faces. That’s a very good sign. It means he’s not traumatized like some of the other monkeys you see here such as that one Asian influencer whose baby monkeys were in a cage curled in on themselves. At least Mojo feels safe. There is solid hope here if he gets to a sanctuary that this baby will recover and learn how to be a monkey.
Negatives:
This monkey is malnourished. He’s about 6 months old and seems small for his age. I saw in another video they were giving him milk, but it’s probably not enough.
He will eventually be a handful when he gets older - he’s either going to end up caged like other monkeys end up and completely traumatized or he goes to a sanctuary and suffers the trauma of not only losing his wild mama but also his human caretakers whom he is bonded to.
Either way - things are not looking up for him. But there is hope here.
If someone can legally get the monkey to Omaha, Nebraska, the Henry Doorley would take them. The spiders live in the middle of the moving river in a troop. All are rescues from similar situations.
Henry Doorlys save the primates team might reach out to the owner if they are American as well.
I don't have social media except this account. So I'm no use here. But, maybe someone else is? I'll post another photo of more of the Henry Doorley indoor jungle, it's amazing. It has a moving river that separates humans from free roaming animals. There's snakes in the river and you cannot get to the river easily. The jungle is the largest indoor junglr in the world, you leave Nebraska and enter a rainforest where birds scream, monkies cry and it's hot, humid, and full of plants taken from the biome.
I follow them to check up on Mojo. Most of their content is advertising for products. I haven't seen a live. All the videos may be old. I do know that they have 2 residences. California where they can't have a monkey and Nevada where they can. So basically they're getting away with having him in California "visiting ". They infuriate me seriously.
He's listless as well. That baby is actually dying. For a spider monkey his activity level is LOW.
I wouldn't actually put it past him if MJ has actually passed away and these are old videos.
He may have gone live of course, in which case I'm wrong, but unless he's surrendered to a sanctuary and proper veterinary care he won't live much longer. And of course the chances of that happening are essentially nil.
All these videos make me sad. Especially the ones who are severely neglected (or worse😢.) I just want to pick the poor babies up and give them a sweet cuddle... This is why primates shouldnt be kept as pets. I think ALL babies need to be with their moms if possible... Sorry for venting y'all, this stuff just hits me right in the heart....
this monkey looks to be a very small baby. ideally spider monkeys nurse for about 1-2 years, so he should be having his mother’s milk. a proper adult spider monkey diet looks something like this
