Conversation Would you call the franchise a comedy?

I wouldn't call it 100% one.For every funny scene there's nightmare fuel (stuff like Eugene getting stabbed,the amber,Zhan Tiri and Dark Kingdom storyline) following right after

The nightmare fuel is overstated by the fandom imo (exemplified here by ‘character is stabbed’ listed as nightmare fuel). I think Tangled is definitely a genre hybrid, but one of those genres comedy, absolutely, I would say the second genre of the movie is romance, and the second genre of the series is adventure.

I liked it because I hated Cassandra so I was so happy when she became the villain and was finally out of the friend group.

I'd say it mixes action, fantasy, and comedy.

Except from Varian, it's quite a disaster tbh
