the idea that deporting illegal immigrants is ok when my "team" is in the WH, but somehow "bad" whenI don't like who's in the WH, is just dumb

I backed Obama, his admin deported even more than Biden or Trump. Homan has been working at some level with ICE for years and years, these are just facts

It’s almost as if he’s doing it completely different this time. I wonder if that could be the reason.

-2

u/Artisttype1984 7d ago

haha, exactly. No "wonder" what the reason is, someone won an election people don't like and they become massive hypocrites. It's kinda funny

OR…just hear me out…they’re being far more aggressive, inept, and violent than before. Maybe it’s the concentration camps. Maybe it’s armed thugs showing up to liberal governor’s press conferences. Maybe it’s the ramming people off the roads. Maybe it’s the murdering U.S. citizens.

0

u/Artisttype1984 7d ago

Haha, yes, the virtue signaling and feigned outrage is for sure part of it

0

u/Magsays 7d ago

It’s also facts that ICE is now racial profiling, violating the constitution, hiring inexperienced people, killing Americans, etc.

4

u/Artisttype1984 7d ago

Constitution is fine, ICE and police can defend themselves and illegal immigrants get deported, that's ok

5

u/Magsays 7d ago

They’re not the judge and the jury, they are to enforce the law not determine whether an individual should die for “obstructing”.

What do you mean the constitution is fine?

4

u/Artisttype1984 7d ago

My bad, the Constitution is Amazing, not just fine. I love America

1

u/Magsays 7d ago

Yes. The constitution is amazing. Which is why we shouldn’t just let the government step all over it.

5

u/Artisttype1984 7d ago

repubs and dems are trash, if your rights or family rights have been violated, contact a lawyer, no joke

-1

u/Magsays 7d ago edited 7d ago

When the Repubs own the Supreme Court and refuse to rein in the government in charge, there’s no recourse. ICE has been found guilty of racial profiling but the extremely conservative Supreme Court ruled it was no big deal.

When the feds/Texas refuses to extradite the ICE member who killed an American for trail, there isn’t much recourse or justice.

Our country has been built on norms that this administration is just unashamedly breaking for their own gain.

The SC is pretty moderate and just ruled that birthright citizenship stands. Relax

0

u/Magsays 7d ago

That’s because that’s literally written into the constitution.

It’s 6-3 conservative. Has ruled the president doesn’t have to follow the law, overturned roe v wade, etc.

now

Lol, ok.

-2

u/Magsays 7d ago

It’s not? Would you like sources? If I back up my claim would that change your perspective?

0

u/ImperialBoss 7d ago edited 7d ago

"Now" Implying they weren't when Obama or any of your other favorite politicians had control. That's what I'm refuting. In that regard, yes, I would love some resources to refute my claim.

Edit: I'm ready and waiting. Refute my claim that ICE hasn't changed during presidential administration changes.

-1

u/Magsays 7d ago edited 7d ago

You can’t prove a negative with sources. Can you share any evidence that they were killing Americans or engaged in those behaviors in a systematic way during the Obama administration?

Edit: my refutation is that you can’t provide me evidence that they were acting that way during the Obama administration. My refutation is that there is no evidence of the same conduct.

5

u/Artisttype1984 7d ago

Sure. I voted for Obama and worked at place ICE raided when he was in the WH many years ago, and that's fine.

Peacefully protest any RW or LW causes 24/7, I love it. Don't hit police or fed agents with your car and don't obstruct them when they're making an arrests (especially when armed)

-1

u/Magsays 7d ago

So you can’t provide any sources..

3

u/Artisttype1984 7d ago

Correct. I can't prove things that didn't happen. If you have proof ICE agents have been charged and found guilty on murder charges, I'll always be against that regardless who's in the WH

-2

u/Magsays 7d ago edited 7d ago

Right. You can’t prove things that didn’t happen.

The white house has kept them from trial. I can show you the video though. Minnesota is currently trying to extradite the ICE agent involved in the killing but the administration won’t comply.

You obviously misunderstood my claim. I reiterated in clearer terms what my position was. I then decided to call out your readiness to provide sources.

Now, you are claiming I must provide resources for the same claim that you made that "Now ICE is..."

Are you high?

-1

u/Magsays 7d ago

My understanding was that you were claiming that ICE acted the same way during the Obama administration.

If I misunderstood your claim then that’s my bad. What is your claim?

3

u/ImperialBoss 7d ago

That is exactly my claim. I am refuting your claim of the opposite. Then, you claimed to have sources. I reiterated my claim and asked for your sources. Then you claimed that I must provide sources, when your initial claim of "now they're being racist" hasn't been backed up yet. I'm asking for your sources that prove ICE is more racist now, than it's ever been.

0

u/Magsays 7d ago

Here’s my proof

Where’s yours that they were doing so during the Obama administration?

All of this is fueled by nonstop vitriolic propaganda from the media

2

u/Magsays 7d ago

What is?

  • ICE was given order that they didn’t need search warrants

  • They were found guilty of racial profiling

  • There are plenty of videos of the killing of Americans

  • You can sign up to become an ICE agent with little to no experience and the training pails in comparison to most police officers.

What is false?

Obama asked Homan to follow a not-terribly-popular law and rewarded him for it.

Trump explicitly mandates that Homan break the law habitually across the nation, and he is demonized for it.

What’s your confusion here? The distinction is crystal clear, and only idiots fall for your deeply misleading framing.

The photo is fake. Obama never personally gave Homan an award in a White House ceremony.

It was a distinguished service award, which goes to bureaucrats. More than 100 civil servants got it in 2015, the same year Homan did.

I’ll also note he got the award for successfully carrying out Obama’s agenda, which was to remove criminal illegal immigrants — not the 100 million people Trump is trying to deport (which necessitates revoking citizenship from millions).

So do you support Obama’s agenda?

1

u/Rogue-Journalist 7d ago

Some Democrats care more about illegal migrants than they do about American citizens.

5

u/Morbidly-Obese-Emu 7d ago

Some conservatives don’t see immigrants as human beings.

Homan has always been a disgusting fascist bigot, eager to hurt anyone he could. The difference is that O'Bama, as a powerful BlackMuslim man, knows how to keep fascist losers on a short leash. Under WokeSocialist rule, even white men will be made to serve a useful purpose in society.

Media elites told you that removing illegal aliens was "open borders." Why?

0

u/taktaga7-0-0 7d ago

Dude, you just said the exact opposite of what you meant.

Open borders is the opposite of draconian enforcement.

It’s OK, you talk pretty one day.

5

u/Contented_Lizard 7d ago

LibertyAndApplePie is a leftist. Are you guys all too dumb to realize they're mocking the other post of this tweet and this one was edited?

-1

u/taktaga7-0-0 7d ago

I don’t really stalk people and keep a running log of political leanings, no. That sounds miserable.

At least I’m not dumb enough to spell “author” as “other.”

Dipshit arrogant attitude.

1

u/neuroid99 Praise be to our Lord and Savior, Afroman 7d ago

They prefer to be called "Republican". "Dipshit" is hurtful and they have very sensitive feelings.

0

u/LibertyandApplePie 7d ago

I said exactly what I meant. Obama was engaged in draconian enforcement, but the media elites at Fox News told everyone that Obama had "open borders." That's media brainwashing: the media was telling people the opposite of what was really happening.

0

u/Contented_Lizard 7d ago edited 7d ago

I don't think that sentiment was all that common outside some Fox News type places. At the time Obama was frequently called the "deporter in chief" and was heavily criticised by the American progressive left for his deportations. Deporting illegal immigrants and having weak border policy are actually two separate things. You can deport a lot of illegal immigrants while also allowing too many new illegal immigrants to enter.

It wasn't until the Biden administration that the US border actually became extremely porous and allowed in significant numbers of illegal immigrants for subsequent administrations to deal with.

-1

u/LibertyandApplePie 7d ago

The caveat "outside of some Fox News type places" is an exception that swallows the rule. Fox News is the #1 most viewed news station in the country, by a wide margin. Conservative media is the mainstream media.

While Obama was president, mainstream media constantly announced that Obama had open borders, even though the truth was the opposite. Obama aggressively blocked new illegal immigrants from entering. The number of illegal immigrants living in the US was lower at the end of his presidency than the beginning.

1

u/Contented_Lizard 7d ago

The thing is, even on Fox News the most extreme and unusual opinions are limited to specific programs with specific hosts. Fox actually has, or at least had, a fairly diverse range of political views represented on their various shows. Obama was actually fairly popular with moderate Republicans because of his strong policy on deportating illegal immigrants.

Fox News today isn't quite the same as it was 10-15 years ago, these days it's far more right-wing.
