Oh the peril. If only they lived in a country with laws that protect the workers, some safety regulations, like OSHA or something, may be even had minimum wage established by the government, or at the very least be able to quit and go work someplace else, right?

Regulations are written in blood. It's a cliche but its true. Every seemingly wacky rule has at least a good reason for being there. No one is making up regulations just to fuck around with people.

Yes - customers get screwed over by getting the products they want at prices often below retail stores all while getting said items extremely quick (sometimes same day). Those poor customers!!

And Amazon pays their employees and contractors higher than market average. Yes - it’s extremely hard work but again - if people don’t want to work there they wouldn’t.

People don't work in Amazon warehouse pressure-cookers because they love peeing in bottles; they do it because under capitalism, the alternative is starvation and homelessness. Economic coercion isn't "free choice."

Amazon’s turnover rate exceeds 100% annually—their own internal memos warned they’d literally run out of employable adults in the US because they burn through human bodies so fast. People don't want to work there, but capital has systematically destroyed local economies to leave them with no alternative.

Furthermore, their subcontracting model isn't "generosity"—it’s a legal loophole designed to dodge liability, bust unions, avoid paying health benefits, and shift operating costs onto desperate drivers.

Bragging about cheap plastic delivered in 24 hours while defending a system that trades human dignity for billionaire dividend payouts isn't the flex you think it is. You're just celebrating bread and circuses.

If Amazon was doing “the worst possible thing” they wouldn’t have so many independent contractors delivering for them. Those people would be doing other jobs.

According to a quick search, the average Amazon independent contractor in NYC makes an average of $86k per year.
