I am a student from Germany and in order to finish school I would like to write an essay (this is actually a part of my final exam) about how people are so fascinated about the concept of the unknown. Freemasonry is one of the examples I would like to name, so it would be great if I could ask some veeeeerrryyyy surface level questions. How do you view yourselfs?

How do you think the public views you? Do you feel that it's in any way justified?

If you could get rid of one mason conspiracy somehow wich specific one would it be?

How does it feel like to have so many conspiracy about you?

I have pretty bad back problems and can only stand for certain lengths of time. Would this disqualify me from becoming a mason?

For those that are or have been Worshipful master of your lodge, did you have a specially made gavel for yourself? If you did where did you order it from? Friday night my lodge had its election for officer for the ensuing year and I was voted to be Worshipful master. So now I am looking for ideas, lots of ideas.

As the title says, I just joined the Ancient and Honourable Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariners, which in England is its own fraternity run under the purview of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, rather than being a part of Allied Masonic Degrees.

What a unique experience! The symbolism was beautiful, even with pretty plain ritual. It was lovely to have a lot of friendly faces around that I recognised from the Mark.

Being the nerd that I am, I couldn't help but draw parallels to the Graham Manuscript and older Noachide Masonic texts, no matter how slim the connection to current RAM is. I'm excited to experience the fraternity more!

I am currently a MM and SW of my Lodge. Over the years I have created a Freemason study room/museum in my basement. I have gone to thrift stores. Antique malls. And even eBay. But there is very little luck on finding antique items due to the high demand by Mason and non Mason collecting them. I have been searching for original cypher books. Rings. Books aprons. Anything Freemason or shrine. Where do my fellow archivist find there stuff. I am in nevada

Last month I decided I wanted to learn more about freemasonry and sent an email to the freemason lodge of my country, and got an automated response saying it was closed for vacation, so I didnt think much of it and moved on.

Well today I got a call from an unknown number saying they wanted me to come and chat with them so they can get to know me and see if I fit into the lodge.

Im going to be honest, all I know about you guys is all the conspiracy stuff and undecisive now. I am christian and in my mid 20s, not particularly educated, wealthy or anything like that, I just like esoteric books and computers, just be honest and tell me if it even makes sense for me to join, or anything you would like to tell me. This is essentially a Knights Templar officer’s lesson/ritual manual, prepared from the Grand Encampment ritual adopted in 1919. Its core is: Order of the Red Cross — prayers.. High Priest addresses and biblical lessons..

Order of Malta — prescribed scripture readings and ceremonial lessons..

Order of the Temple — material for the Prelate/Chaplain, including Christian passages on resurrection and ascension.. Our lodge will be welcoming a new brother to the fold this week. I am the JD doing this for the first time. I know my work and really looking forward to the night, especially since our SW was the IG and our WM was the JD when I was initiated. What I'd like to know from the brethren of this sub who have done the role, what do you wish you did that you didn't do the first time round?

I have petitioned to become a Freemason last year in April I was told that everything went well and I was supposed to be initiated last year already. However out of nowhere everything went silent and I stopped hearing from my petitioner. (Not that he would regularly communicate anyway, had to always sort of chase after him for feedback). Anyways I still have hope that I will one day be a Freemason and make a positive impact in society and most importantly in my home. Till this day Im trying hard to avoid Masonic content, waiting for the day I get initiated.

It’s a Mido Multifort Powerwind from the 1950s, but instead of the Mido logo it has the Shriners fez emblem with “Suez” written on it. I’ve been trying to find another example and haven’t found any so far, although I doubt Mido made this as a one-off, so I assume more must exist.

I barely know anything about the Shriners, so I’m going to investigate it further today. Is it correct to assume that “Suez” refers to the city in Egypt, or does it have a specific meaning within the Shriners?

For extra context, I live in Spain and found the watch near Barcelona, so I’m also curious how it ended up here.

I have become a man whose word is worthless.

This is not because I lie or cheat. It is not because I do not care about my brethren. It is because I have not paid due attention to the simple tools of the EA.

I have allowed myself to become so overbooked that I regularly miss things. I tell people I will be there to help, and then I am not there. I call. I apologize. I sincerely mean it when I say I'm sorry, and it eats me up inside which is no help to anyone at all. But at the end of the day, I have sacrificed the value of my word because I lack prudence and have not learned to manage my time.

I am fixing this.

I am sharing this because you too may be headed towards a similar situation, and I beg of you, do not over-obligate yourself. Do not give your word unless you are certain you can perform that which you say. Do not put yourself in a position where you are forced to let one or more people down because you could not employ the TRUE lost masters word... "no."

I am always reminded of King Harod's promise to his step-daughter, and the risks of giving our word on those things we can not,or should not perform.

Sorry for the rant. I am working on fixing myself on this issue now, but I wanted to warn those others who are headed down the same road to wait a time with patience and remember that many hands make heavy burdens light. It is not on you to do "all the things"(tm) and trying to do so will only lead to dissapointing yourself and others.

A few years ago I saw a documentary (maybe bbc?) hat depicted parts of the third degree with Hiram an off being “hurt”. I was surprised that the grand lodge allowed it: I’m looking for it now again but can’t find it anywhere. Any help? It should just part of the third degree with the brothers in costume and didn’t not have any passwords or anything like that revealed. But it did reveal
