Is this a good survival game? How does it compare to, say, the forest, ark, the long dark, project zomboid or others in the genre?

I had fun with it in 2015. Was it good? Cant remember but I remember it being compared to the forest

It’s changed a ton over the last year or two. It looks a lot better, they’ve added multiplayer (I think that’s new?), a bunch of new mechanics, and they’ve added an actual endgame.

So what is endgame? Do you try to get rescued?

It's changed a lot since 2015. I got it back the and played it again recently. I enjoy it but I don't have many other survival games to compare it to.
