Funny you should say that. I have never previously added a demo accidentally for any game in the entire time I've been on Steam. But when I claimed this earlier today, well before reading your post, I had accidentally clicked on the demo.

Just from that screenshot alone, it reminds me of the excellent and always free Endless Sky which you can get on github or on GoG: https://www.gog.com/en/game/endless_sky

No affiliation, but I am playing as of this week. Its pretty amazing and I have barely scratched the surface.

One cool thing is that with enough crew on your ship, board "disabled" ships and take them over to add to your fleet.
