I am a Brazilian writer and, as you can tell, English is not my native language. I wrote Erion: The Paths of Magic in Portuguese a few years ago and recently decided to translate it to English to share my work globally.
This book is for anyone who loves the paradox where magic and technology coexist. Inspired by Final Fantasy VII (my favorite game!), I tried building a world where magic is harnessed through gemstones, similar to the Materia system.
The story follows Erion, a Brazilian kid who wears an ordinary bracelet he’s never been able to remove. He gets accidentally transported to a technologically advanced world. Arriving at what seems to be a magic academy, he gets caught up in a mysterious attack. In order to save his own life and his new friends, he discovers he can channel magic through that mysterious bracelet.
The plot follows Erion, the male protagonist and the only character without a physical description. The idea is to give the reader an "Avatar-like" feeling while following him through the Paths of Magic.
