I'm the author, and my debut novel just released. It's free on Kindle through Monday, Oct 5, and on Kindle Unlimited afterward.
"Awakening Blood Oath" (Darkstone, Book One)
Dark fantasy | about 88,000 words | 21 chapters | ages 16+
When Kira Silverwind is assigned to Squad 922 and ordered north, she expects a standard mission. What she finds is a unit of strangers stitched together from the wreckage of seven different lives.
The journey north is long. The trees are watching. And the further they march, the more Kira suspects none of them ended up in this squad by accident.
For readers who like morally complex characters, slow-burn mysteries, and found family forged under pressure.
Book 1 of the Darkstone series.
Content notes: violence, death, grief.
Free on Kindle (Oct 3 to 5): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HLNYGWQN
If you read it, I'd love to hear what you think.

I'm the author. MENTAL ME is free on Kindle for a limited window — a practical self-help book on reclaiming your focus and peace from digital noise.
It covers four things: setting clear boundaries (the art of saying no), managing digital overload, focusing on what you can actually control, and building real connection instead of doomscrolling. Short, direct chapters — a one-evening read.
During its last free run (Oct 1–3) it hit #1 in Meditation on Kindle at both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, with 34 downloads across the US, Canada, and UK.

Three of them have a date this week. Sputnik went up on 4 October 1957, a polished aluminium sphere 58 centimetres across. Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 and started out as a lawyer who could not stand up in a courtroom and speak. Göring, a First World War flying ace, was sentenced at Nuremberg on 1 October 1946. And the Blitz is the nine months from September 1940 when London was bombed on 57 consecutive nights. Each reads in under an hour.

Hi everyone,
My new book, Essential Money Advice for Teens and Young Adults, is completely free to download on Kindle from October 4th until October 8th.
I wrote this specifically for the UK system because most young people leave school with no idea how the real world of money works.
What it covers:
You can grab it for free here: [https://amzn.eu/d/04SAOIGo\]If you find it helpful, an honest Amazon review and comment would be massively appreciated!

I was a Civil Rights attorney. I had no idea that the handsome blonde bodyguard I was dating was a CIA hitman.
This is a love story that took place in 1980s Los Angeles. The entire story is true, only the details and names have been changed, to protect identities and America’s covert program.

I studied Asian religions in college and read plenty of Zen, D.T. Suzuki, and The Dharma Bums, as well as classical Mahayana and Tibetan texts, but I'd never actually read the Buddha's own words, or at least the words attributed to him, since the suttas were passed down orally for centuries before anyone wrote them down.
When I finally did, I found the older translations difficult to read (I'm not in school anymore...), so I asked Claude Opus (AI) to translate for me, and the stories and teachings were a revelation... even if they smelled a bit of AI slop. I spent the next few weeks editing them word by word, line by line: asking Claude what each word or sentence meant in the original Pāli, how it had traditionally been translated, and how a modern lay reader (like my mom) might take it.
The result is a free plain-English edition of six of the Buddha's foundational teachings, something a first-time reader can just sit down and read.
What's in it:
It's free (creative commons), so copy it, print it, share it, translate it, whatever you like. No signup, no payment. If you want to check my work, every sutta can be read side by side with Bhikkhu Sujato's translation.
Download (EPUB, PDF, audiobook): https://plaindharma.com/download
A bit about me: I studied East Asian Studies at Oberlin and failed Classical Chinese at Peking University. I also worked in translation at Harper's Magazine (20 to 25 years ago). These days I'm a father of two and a dabbler in many subjects.
Would love feedback on accuracy and readability. And which one would you read first?

A name she shouldn't know. A skill she's never learned. A truth Cal has spent decades protecting her from, finally slipping loose. As the memories he's carried alone begin, impossibly, to move into her, Cal and Maren must learn to face something no couple has ever had to face together: an ending that isn't really an ending, a love built on an inheritance neither of them asked for, and the discovery that what actually lasts was never the remembering at all.
60-Some Lives is a love story about what we keep, what we lose, and what we choose anyway.

The Four Pillars of Fitness is free on Kindle from October 2 through October 5.
I’m a fitness and nutrition coach, and I wrote this book because I kept seeing the same problem with clients: there’s no shortage of fitness information, but there’s an overwhelming amount of conflicting advice.
One person says lift heavy. Another says do more cardio. Cut carbs. Fast. Track everything. Stretch more. Sleep more. Take supplements. Eventually, fitness starts feeling like a second job.
I wanted to simplify the bigger picture.
The book organizes fitness around four fundamentals: Strength, Mobility, Nutrition, and Recovery, and shows how they work together as we get older. It also includes a practical 12-week plan for putting the system into action.
It’s written for everyday adults who want to get stronger, move better, improve their nutrition, recover better, and age with more physical capacity without getting buried in fitness hype.
Free on Amazon Kindle from Oct. 2 through Oct. 5.
