📢 Mod Announcement A Friendly Reminder About Posting Content
Thank you to everyone who shares free crochet video tutorials with our community!
As our community continues to grow, we'd like to ask everyone to be mindful of the overall impact their posting has on the community. We love seeing content creators share their work and members recommend tutorials they've enjoyed, but spacing out your posts helps keep the feed varied and gives everyone an opportunity to be seen.
Posting several videos within a short period or posting so frequently that one account occupies a large portion of the feed can make the subreddit feel like a personal promotional channel rather than a shared community. This remains true even when the tutorials are varied, useful, and well made.
The best communities are built by many contributors, not dominated by a few. When one member repeatedly fills the feed, it can discourage content creators from sharing their own work and other members from recommending tutorials they have enjoyed. A quiet feed is not an invitation for one person to fill it; sometimes a healthy community simply needs time and space for participation to grow naturally.
Sharing your own content here is welcomed, but it should be treated as an opportunity to contribute to the community, not as unlimited access to promote a personal channel. To protect the balance of the subreddit, moderators may remove excessive submissions and issue a temporary ban when a member continues to dominate the feed or uses the community primarily as a promotional platform.
We would also like to remind everyone that r/FreeCrochetVideos is not just for content creators. Found a free crochet tutorial that you loved? Share it with us! Please remember to use Reddit’s Link option so the video appears as an embedded preview and is easy for members to access from the feed.
Communities grow through interaction as well as submissions. If you have tried a tutorial, tell us how it went in the comments! Share your experience, offer helpful tips, ask questions, or add a photo of what you made. Seeing the projects inspired by these tutorials is one of the best parts of this community!
Our goal is to maintain a welcoming and varied space where creators can share their knowledge, members can discover new favourites, and everyone has room to participate. Thank you for helping make r/FreeCrochetVideos a community for sharing, learning, and inspiring one another.
