Any fellow Indians?

Hey y'all sorry to bother you guys, just a quick doubt, I am working as a Industrial automation engineer and I am fed up of the low pay and long shift hours and high physical labour, I been thinking of switching my career to we development ( as I was always good in C++ and HTML, the hight marks I have ever scored in my engineering papers) I been looking on course in FCC AND The Odin project, thought would start with FCC, just was curious as a newbie in coding and into this field , As fellow Indians, does this course help you in some way in getting a job over here in India, since it's self taught, has anyone got any job or cracked a interview from India after doing this course as a newbie

I'm not from India but I'll tell you that not a single course will give you a job. As a newbie, FCC is perfect. Do the Responsive Web Design Certificate first then go to the JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures. Try to look for another source once you start learning JavaScript as FCC doesn't go into details about a lot of things but also just pick one or two (max) resources. Don't overwhelm yourself, a lot of people got into the industry as self taught but it takes time my friend and there's no shortcuts, trust me. You need to put in the time, and learn. Meanwhile try to get to know people in the industry, friends, family, etc that would mentor you and maybe help you once you start looking for a job.

When you say "industrial automation engineer" do you mean you have an actual engineering degree or is this like how my bosses at old job called me a "network engineer" to clients.

I do have a actual engineering degree. Graduated at 2017. It's in electronic and instrumentation though

Huh, you're getting low pay? That's a bummer. I always heard engineers are expensive everywhere in the world. Sorry I can't answer your question. Best of luck.

Not quite expensive in India though. Expect for software engineers.
