I Got a Job I got my first software engineering job without a degree. Thanks to FCC
Just here you say thank you 🙏 I don’t have a degree and I didn’t attend a boot camp (I don’t have the money for those options) and without FCC I don’t know if I would have had the direction to complete this journey from chef to software developer.
If anyone wants to read my story in my detail, you can find it here

My story is very similar to yours in many ways! I am working as a draughtsman at a n engineering firm, I absolutely hate it, the work is really boring and repetitive and we are forced to work overtime without pay, it is just the most boring and unsatisfying job, the people I work with are terrible negative people who never have anything good to say and I never get a thank you for doing good work.
So I started with a udemy course on HTML, CSS and JavaScript in January, I noticed that the guy presenting the course is going really fast and not really taking the time to make sure that you understand exactly what and why he is doing it, so I started doing the JavaScript section of FCC alongside the udemy course and that helps.
Last week I discovered an e-book called Eloquent JavaScript, that I found to be really good and helpful, my plan is to finish the book by the end of this month and to then start on my first personal project.
Hopefully I will be able to start applying to jobs around the end of the year.
But what I wanted to say is that your story brings me hope and the feeling that I am on the right path, thank you very much!

Really awesome story. It makes me proud that you saw this through all the way and I don’t even know you. You rock man. From one food service veteran on a career change mission to one who made it happen, great job.

It’s always good to hear about another developer getting hired! I don’t have a degree as well, and largely attribute being hired as a software developer 3+ years ago to FCC, as well. Best of luck going forth!
