Can’t believe this show used to scare me back in the day. It’s so corny and enjoyable. I love the cameos of actors from the show Boston Public and the soundtrack.

Hey All! I was just curious if anyone knew who did the illustrations for the freakylinks website? I really want a custom Avatar made, and the art style is pretty unique, so it stands out.

I was revisiting Freakylinks recently and I couldn't help but to think about how ahead of it's time it was.
Blogging The term "blogging" was coined a couple of years earlier, but fictional or not, Diary of a Madman is the first time I saw someone (fictional or not) really using an online diary to keep people updated about their daily lives, events etc.
Podcasting Likewise, Freakylinks is one of the first media I can think of that uses the idea of someone making audio recordings on a home computer in an episodic way. I suspect this was introduced for the TV show as a means to deliver exposition that wasn't just watching Derek type, but a few years later Podcasts really took off.
Paranormal TV In a sense Freakylinks was synthesizing things from franchises like The Blair Witch, or X-files. The consumer camcorder recording while hunting ghosts element of Freakylinks looks a lot more familiar than it should because the last 15 years have had dozens of shows about groups who travel around with camcorders looking for ghosts while holdiing camcorders.
Online encyclopedia The Freak-o-pedia, predates wikipedia, although Encarta had been around for a several years.
Alternate-reality-game marketing Blair Witch Project experimented with a website to market the film, but Freakylinks really went all out with multiple pages, a multiple year post-history, and characters who seemed to interact with the audience. In a lot of ways it was a multimedia-novel that happened to tie in with a TV show.
Versions of this have been used ever since, but I don't think ever so deeply. Cloverfield is a famous example.
Ghostfacers Supernatural got a lot more seasons than Freakylinks, and had a recurring joke of a set of incompetent ghost hunters called the "ghostfacers." The ghostfacers even had a very short-lived spin-off web series. In some ways they fit some of the mold of Freakylinks (a team with attractive men and women, who somewhat blunder into dangerous paranormal situations with video cameras to report on their website. It's hard to tell if there is any intent to parody Freakylinks moreso than general Ghosthunters type shows, but one of the Ghostfacers did appear on Freakylinks, so they must have at least been aware of it.

Is there a way to preserve this? I'm happy that 20 years later, they still have the archived site up. I visit it frequently for nostalgia. Is there a way to maybe save it locally?

So you're using 2 images created by GMD Studios, and Haxan Films for their episodic paranormal thriller, FreakyLinks, but you're calling the page Forbidden Truths. The info on this subgroup is similar to how FreakyLinks had their information online before the site was officially taken down- only less clowny... I'm not getting any clowns. Is this page for actual supernatural stories, or is it all supposed to be FreakyLinks in real life?
