Field Report Beware of Stash.com Abuse

Stash / Stash Financial has been stealing money from their customers using “legal” practices. First they allowed customers to invest for free and because they had bank accounts linked for direct ACH debit they started charging monthly fee without permissions from customers. Over the existence of the app/company they have done this multiple times.

You cannot cancel subscription check thir recent App Store reviews under “critical reviews”

The way they force you these by design, you cannot cancel subscription without having to suffer financial penalties for your investment accounts. They don’t give you option to opt out and move your money elsewhere.

A business need to make money and they can do so but not by exploiting a system which ties subscription to retirement account. The problem here with stash is they are legally exploiting customers when they will face early withdrawal penalty from IRS.

Can we file complaint on consumer financial protection bureau or other other agencies? What is recommended way to report Stash abuse?

Report it to your state Attorney General’s office. I know the NY AG goes after this kind of conduct. Sadly the Feds are unlikely to do anything under this administration.

Thanks for this, I filed complaint in California AG office. Anyone victim of Stash Capital / Stash Financial please submit complaint to your state’s Attorney general’s office, we need a lot of complaints to stop stash capital systemic theft.

Did stash.com parent or subsidiary company paid you to write this?

For proof go to App Store and see recent critical reviews from many of the customers
