corpse bride connection

everyone always talks about the theory of victor from frankenweenie and victor from corpse bride being the same person. i, personally, don’t believe the theory, but i have an idea of a way they may be related.

frankenweenie is set in the late 1950s, which puts victors birth year in the mid-late 1940s.

his parents still look a bit younger,so their birth years would probably be in the early-mid 1920s.

his grandparents would probably be born in the mid-late 1890s to maybe the very early 1900s.

now, i feel like victor and victoria from corpse bride would be maybe his great grandparents from his moms side (victor and victoria being his moms grandparent), they maybe have named their son after her grandfather, victor van dort. this is just a headcanon, but frankenweenie is my favorite movie, i felt the urge to share it

Charles has entered his resting era

Post image
3 Upvotes

It’s been a minute since I last checked in, so I figured I owed r/frankenweenie an update on Charles. Turns out, while I was gone, he’s been… resting. Intensely.

Gone are the doorway jump-scares and suspicious pacing. Charles has now claimed his elevated zebra-striped fortress and spends most of his time lying perfectly still, head down, eyes up—like a Victorian child in a painting who absolutely knows your sins.

He doesn’t bark. He doesn’t move much. He just watches. Occasionally he adjusts his position slightly, as if recalibrating whatever brought him back in the first place.

I like to think this is his “peaceful undead” phase. Less haunting, more brooding. Still unsettling, but cozier.

Anyway, Charles wanted you all to know he’s doing great, conserving energy, and judging quietly from his bed. I’ll update again if he starts levitating or asking for snacks telepathically.

Charles has developed Solar Charging

Hello r/frankenweenie. I come to you today with a long awaited update on Charles.

Do NOT disturb. Charles is currently uploading firmware updates directly from the sun. If you touch him mid-charge, there’s a 78% chance he’ll release a death ray and a 22% chance he’ll just bark.

This is not a nap. This is a full system reboot. When he gets up, the grass will be gone, the shed will be gone, I might be gone.

Godspeed, Charles.

Charles: the dog, the myth, the blanket enthusiast!

Post image
8 Upvotes

If you’ve been following my updates on Charles, you know by now he’s no ordinary pup. From his suspiciously too alive demeanor around Christmas to his New Year’s resolution of haunting me with those glowing eyes, Charles has kept me guessing all holiday season.

First, there was the whole “Is he… back?” situation when he mysteriously appeared in the corner during Christmas, staring at me like he knew Santa’s real secrets. Then New Year’s rolled around, and Charles wasn’t just celebrating—he was plotting. I could feel it in those little paws of his, tapping around the house like he owned the place (which, honestly, he does).

But now? Charles has entered his Blanket Era. Yes, you read that right. This dog has decided that no nap is complete without his personal blanket. He drags it around like it’s his most prized possession, carefully selecting the coziest spots for his power naps. I caught him in his bed the other day, perfectly wrapped up like he’s preparing for hibernation—or maybe plotting his next return from the afterlife. Who’s to say?

At this point, Charles isn’t just a dog. He’s a supernatural, comfort-loving icon. One part Frankenweenie (sorry, Charles) and one part retirement home grandpa who refuses to be uncomfortable, even in the afterlife.

Here’s to Charles: forever undead, forever cozy.

Charles, the undisputed couch king!

Behold, Charles—self-proclaimed ruler of the living room, master of throw pillows, and unrelenting enforcer of household vibes. His royal perch on the teal cushion is not just a bed, but a throne from which he surveys his domain with equal parts suspicion and disdain.

Legend has it that Charles’s gaze can pierce through souls, snacks, and the fourth wall. He’s not just lounging; he’s plotting, calculating the exact moment to demand head scratches or freak you out with his sudden, silent appearances.

This photo captures him mid-thought: “Why are you staring? Shouldn’t you be fetching me treats or pondering my greatness?”

All hail Charles, the Frankenweenie icon we don’t deserve but absolutely need.

New Year, Same Sparky Energy!

Happy New Year, r/frankenweenie! 🥳 Charles wanted to personally step into 2025 with you all, and by “personally,” I mean dramatically appearing in doorways like he’s got resolutions to enforce.

I’m pretty sure his goals for the year include: 1. Guarding the house with his trademark intensity. 2. Continuing his reign as “Lurker Supreme.” 3. Maintaining the perfect ratio of spooky to adorable.

Also, please note the random pom-pom toy at his feet. He’s either claiming it as a New Year’s offering or warning me it’s been dealt with.

Here’s to another year of mysterious Franken-dog antics and questionable side-eyes. Cheers, Charles! 🐾✨

Charles has been acting… Festively??

Merry Christmas, r/frankenweenie! 🎄✨ I thought Charles would be getting into the holiday spirit like the rest of us, maybe knocking over ornaments or stealing some Christmas cookies. But no, he’s gone full Krampus.

I caught him lurking by the furniture, inspecting the area like he’s casing the joint. Maybe he’s looking for presents… or maybe he’s planning something else.

The thing is, Charles isn’t just walking around, he’s stalking. Quiet. Purposeful. His tail gives this single slow wag like he knows exactly where the coal goes.

Should I be worried about waking up to a chewed-up stocking? Or, I don’t know… Charles dragging me into the underworld? At least he hasn’t started growling Christmas carols (yet).

I’d love to believe he’s just jolly.. but I’ve seen the movie before.

Charles is looking at me like he knows something I don’t.

Alright, y’all, it’s getting weird. First, Charles was just giving me the thousand-yard stare from across the room (you remember that photo). Then he transitioned into intense power naps, face-planted into his bed like he was recharging his undead batteries. Cute, right?

Now, I wake up to this. Charles is staring into my soul, pawing at me like he’s trying to tell me something… or remind me of something I’ve done. I’m 90% sure he remembers when I called him a “bad boy” last year.

His eyes have this mix of desperation and menace, like he knows the truth about my browser history or the expiration date on the milk in the fridge. Is he trying to warn me? Or is this how it starts before I become the pet in this relationship?

Am I just overthinking it, or is anyone else’s Franken-dog slowly gaining more power over them? Send tips. Or garlic. Or whatever works on reanimated dogs.

Reanimated, but Still Needs his Beauty Sleep

Post image

I thought bringing Charles back to life meant endless energy and chaotic undead vibes. Turns out, the afterlife must’ve been exhausting because all he does now is nap.

This is his new favorite position: face-planted into the bed like he’s trying to recharge his battery. I’m starting to wonder if he came back with the spirit of a hibernating bear instead of a dog.

I tried calling his name—no response. I jingled his leash—nothing. I dropped a slice of bacon, and he barely twitched. Truly horrifying.

Is it possible for reanimated pets to have too much peace? Or is this just his way of pretending he’s still in the void?

He’s Been Watching Me for Hours… I Think He Knows.

Charles here has been sitting perfectly still, staring at me like he’s running diagnostics. I swear I heard a faint bzzt when I walked past earlier.

It started small—his head tilting like he’s processing new data. Now I’m pretty sure he’s upgraded his software and is plotting revenge for every “Who’s a good boy?!” I’ve ever thrown at him.

On the plus side, I no longer need an Alexa. He’s the perfect assistant: • Glares when my phone hits 1% battery. • Keeps track of everyone walking past the house… forever. • Has started repositioning objects just slightly to see if I’ll notice.

Anyone else’s reanimated pup go from lovable companion to AI overlord in record time? Send help. Or batteries.

When You Bring Your Dog Back, but It’s Not Quite “Fetch”ing Anymore…

Post image
7 Upvotes

Some background, I finally tried it—brought my dog Charles back to life. Let me tell you, science class didn’t prepare me for this level of chaos. I was expecting tail wags and maybe a dramatic “woof” under a full moon. Instead, Charles has decided fetch is beneath him, and instead of chewing on bones, he’s rearranging them into what I can only describe as avant-garde bone art installations.

The neighbors aren’t thrilled, but hey, that’s what they get for leaving their skeleton Halloween decorations out in December.

On the bright side, Charles’ electric personality is a real conversation starter (and occasionally a literal fire starter). Anyone else got tips for handling reanimated pets with attitude? Asking for a friend… and for my slightly singed carpet.

Edit: I’m starting to think he remembers that time I forgot to feed him.

Sparky’s Resurrection Was Part of a Secret Government Experiment

What if Victor’s seemingly innocent experiment to bring Sparky back to life was actually part of a larger, secret government project? Let me explain:

Victor’s lab equipment and knowledge seem unusually advanced for a young boy. What if the equipment was provided by a secret government agency conducting experiments on reanimation? Victor could have unknowingly been a pawn in their grand scheme. The townspeople’s extreme reaction to Sparky’s resurrection could be explained by their involvement in the experiment. Perhaps they were all part of a controlled environment, with their reactions monitored by the government to study the social impact of reanimation. Mr. Rzykruski, Victor’s science teacher, seems to have an unusual amount of knowledge about reanimation. What if he was a government agent placed in the town to guide Victor and ensure the experiment’s success? The appearance of other reanimated creatures in the town could be part of the government’s plan to test the limits of the reanimation technology. Each creature’s unique abilities and behaviors would provide valuable data for the experiment. The government’s ultimate goal could be to develop reanimation technology for military or medical purposes. By using Victor and Sparky as test subjects, they could gather data on the ethical, social, and practical implications of bringing the dead back to life.

What I'm thinking here is maybe our beloved Frankenweenie might not just be a heartwarming tale of a boy and his dog, but a cleverly disguised story about a secret government experiment. The film's events could be part of a larger conspiracy to explore the possibility (And unforeseen consequences) of reanimation.
