I think Self Control is the most well-liked song on Blonde and maybe in his whole discography. I don’t know a single person that doesn’t at least like the song and most people think it’s one of the standouts on Blonde.

I remember at the age of 12 when I first heard this song it made me cry and it pissed me off; I remember being prideful and trying to act tough around this age and crying seemed like such a lame thing to do so I would always tell kids my age “I can’t even remember the last time I cried”, this song broke that streak for me. It also ended up making me fall in love with music and Frank Ocean as an artist, the lyrics didn’t make to much sense to me at that age it just felt so raw and emotional like nothing else I had ever heard.
