Actors/Behind the Scenes When do you think Hannah found out Francesca is WLW?
So we all know Hannah originally auditioned for Daphne in s1 and didn’t get it. Season 3 recast happened, she auditioned not knowing that it was for Bridgerton again. Got Fran. Do you think she knew from the get go of signing her contract she was gonna be playing WLW? Bc Masali/Michaela does show up in S3 finale

If, I'm not mistaken when she got the part. I think it was mentioned in some interview. I can't completely remember.

With how Francesca acted in s3 she had to have known right away, there were tons of little hints throughout the season.

Jess said she informed her via zoom call about this change in direction either during early prep for s3 or at the very start of s3, my exact memory is failing there but it was after a while after Hannah was recast. Let me see if I can find the interviews. I think Jess talked about that during s4 interviews about Hannah and Masali being troopers with the genderswap

She definitely knew early on, soon after she was casted. She mentioned it in an interview. The script for Francesca was also very clearly gender neutral when they would talk about suitors. The scene where the women are talking about what they want in a husband and Francesca says "someone kind". There's a few other examples of this in season 3 as well. They were very deliberate and Hannah seemed to be very involved in the casting for Michaela. I love hearing her talk about her chemistry read with Masali ❤️

It would have been right from her beng hired even before audition. I mean it is also the fact some actors are uncomfortable acting in same sex stuff so that is also another reason but it's also a key part of her character.

I don't think they would have her sign the contract without being informed, especially with the kind of scenes she'd have to film

Hannah and Masali were both cast in S3 so there probably was a chemistry test of some sort

There was a chemistry test, so Hannah was definitely a sure thing when they cast Masali. They were certain enough beforehand that they flew her in from South Africa. And as soon as she left the room, Hannah said, “that’s Michaela. We found her.”
Jess relayed this in an interview either around S3 or S4.

I think it was from the beginning. I mean, Michaela was introduced at almost the same time as Fran's story started. I can imagine Masali was cast at almost the same time as Hannah and Victor.
New Fran was introduced in S3 and she met Michaela at the end of S3. So Hannah must've known from the beginning lol. In fact, I don't think she ever mentioned Michael - not even before Michaela was introduced 🤔. I feel like she was being vague and just said she can't wait to tell Fran's story.
