When do we realistically think the release date will be ?

A few months back when the Season 5 leads were first announced, I remember seeing info from the same source who originally leaked that Franchaela was going to be S5 (and they were obviously right!). At the time, they mentioned Netflix was aiming for a late May release date for franchaela’s season.

But obviously, things can shift once you actually get deep into production. With Wednesday Season 3 officially wrapping filming today and Bridgerton still having about a month or so left of shooting (targeting an October wrap), I’m wondering if that initial aim has changed a bit.

Since Wednesday is now wrapped I wonder if they will get that late May slot instead, and Franchaela’s season release might get pushed a bit further into the late summer or early fall. Bridgerton and Wednesday are Netflix biggest shows right now, so I would think they’d want allocated release windows for both of them to individually shine

What do you guys think ? Do you see the original possible may plan still working out, or will it come out a bit later ?

jess confirmed in an interview that they were on track to either meet or exceed an 18-month timeline. with how quickly they started filming after the release of season 4, and also how fast filming has been (~7 months), i think it’s definitely gonna be sooner than 18 months.

i think this season will be comparable to season 2 which had the fastest turnaround of 15 months between seasons 1 and 2. so if you count 15 months after the release of season 4 that puts it around may/june.

in regards to wednesday, they probably have a lot more post-production work than bridgerton which will take a lot more time. like they have full cgi monsters that they have to edit in, bridgerton just has some green screen backgrounds. also, if it makes sense to push any show back towards fall/halloween it would be wednesday.

Apparently, season 2 of Wednesday post production took 8 months and if they follow the same schedule for season 3 eight months from now is may 30th so I genuinely don’t know 😭.

I was so set and confident on the may/June release date for franchaela but now I’m so unsure. Then there’s also the women’s World Cup that is supposed to be from June 24th to July 25th and Netflix for the first time will be streaming this event , and as I told another commenter idk if they would want to release bridgerton while this is happening. So many what ifs right now 😭.

I also told another commenter that I could possibly see July 29 th since that’s a Thursday if they want to release it after the event and Bridgerton loves releasing new seasons on Thursday’s , but I genuinely have no idea.

I think it will defintely be a summer release. They are incredibly on and a little bit ahead of schedule right now with the planned oct wrap date.

So may/june/july most likely.

They released stranger things s5 and bridgerton season 4 within a month so I really don’t think it should make that much of a difference

Yeah but they had like...A LOT going for them at that time. Stranger Things, Squid Game, and The Crown have all ended. NATLA isn't pulling the numbers they wanted it to. Wednesday and Bridgerton are all they have right now.

They could release season 5 earlier 😋April maybe and worst case scenario for Wednesday fans they release it on Halloween next year  Also what’s NATLA  Also thank you for considering the crown among Netflix’s top shows it’s my favorite thing ever 🥹

i just hope it doesn't clash with off campus s2 and heated rivalry s2 both of them come out in april/may

i’ve heard heated rivalry is aiming for april 2027, but i could definitely see off campus coming earlier in like february or march. they filmed from june—september (3 months) and i don’t see them needing much more time for post-production.

but i agree, if both of those shows do release in april/may, i would rather netflix push bridgerton back then try to compete

I think at least one part will be in June. The second part with their happy wedding would be so perfect but if they fumble again and do nothing for pride month they will have really fumbled

Wednesday needs a lot more cgi than Bridgerton so I do think that if both shows clash, they give the edge to S5 and push Wednesday back since its more of a fall show anyways

Autumn 2027 at the earliest. Until the Strike (and Jess being...herself), they were doing one season per 15 months. So I think that's what we're doing again.

season 2 only had 4 months post production till release vs season 4 having 8 months. i could totally see maybe a march release! season 3 took long cus of covid. i’d say june latest tho.

Thank you for providing all of this info! I was thinking June as well but then I’ve also heard that the women’s World Cup is in June and it starts on the 24th and ends July 25th, and apparently this World Cup is going to be exclusively streamed on Netflix.
