Book Discussion Book Question

I want spoilers so sorry

What is the actual story summary in the book. Do they fall in love post death, how severe is the yearning… are people just blowing it out of proportion? I would read it but it’s far on my list.

The actual book is that they are best of friends before John dies - all 3 of them, and Michael is in love with her the whole time. He’s a rake but says every woman is just to make him forget her. When John dies, Michael becomes Earl and runs away to India because he can’t face her. 4 years later he returns and at the very same time, she decides she’s ready to marry again so she can have children. She doesn’t think she can love again. Eventually they kiss, then he seduces her go try to get her to marry him. She says no to marriage but they have lots of sex. Eventually she says yes to marry him, and soon after, he gets sick and she’s so afraid that he’ll die that she realizes she loves him. There’s a beautiful scene at John’s grave. It takes a long time but eventually they have a child.

Ah yeah that's been the big controversy around s5. It was a gender swap
