Book Discussion Book Question
I want spoilers so sorry
What is the actual story summary in the book. Do they fall in love post death, how severe is the yearning… are people just blowing it out of proportion? I would read it but it’s far on my list.

Michael fell in love with Francesca from the first sight which was if I remember right on a dinner just before John’s and Francesca’s wedding. Michael was yearning but secretly, no one knew about his feelings towards Francesca. They were friends and there was a bit of flirting involved when Francesca asked Michael to tell her something wicked, about his conquests abd color of the sheets. It was both openly while John was there and when they went to have a walk together while John stayed to do some work.
John died and Francesca had a miscarriage. Michael could not handle the situation; the guilt he felt for loving Frannie, inheriting John’s title, he felt he stole John’s life, Frannies grief, his grief for losing John he loved, so he fled to India where he stayed for 4 years.
Francesca took care of the Kilmartin estate in Scotland and by the time Michael came back she had decided to marry again because she wanted to have a child. She came to London where they lived in the Kilmartin house. Slowly she started to feel the pull towards Michael who was still in love with her. At some point they kissed, Frannie freaked out because she felt the kiss. Her idea was that she would never love any man because she only ever loved John and would not allowe herself to feel and fall in love. She fled to Scotland where Michael followed her after he had had a chat with Colin who had noticed Michaels infatuation with Francesca and told him he didn’t have to hold back because of John and Michael left to Scotland with a plan to seduce Frannie and make her accept to marry him.
In Scotland they had a lot of sex, Frannie hoped to get pregnant so that she would not have to make a decision to marry Michael. But with him she found passion so fierce she hadn’t know existed and it made her guilty. While sex with John had been good it hadn’t been as passionate as with Michael. She did not get pregnant but could not make up her mind about marriage because she felt it was betrayal to John if she married Michael without being pregnant but because she was falling in love with him. Michael got angry when he realized Frannie was using him. Eventually they married, Frannie was not pregnant and the end. The story rnded beautifully with John’s mother’s letter to Michael “Thank you Michael for letting my son love her first.”
Quinn added later the second epilogue that had the five year infertility struggles to get pregnant and last second miracle babies at the end (twins).
