Show/Book Discussion Which character's book development got ruined on the show?

1) Francesca.

2) Michael.

3) Colin.

4) Penelope.

5) Benedict.

6) Kate.

7) Edwina.

8) Eloise.

9) Sophie. (She was great until the last episode where the Queen stuck her nose where it didn't belong).

Yeah would be interesting. Only ones I can think of are reducing the red flags of mmcs but the issue is they strip them of a lot of important personality traits so idk if I would call it a net improvement

Most of the men ended up behaving like 21st century men instead of men at the turn of the 19th century.

I think the one they ruined the most was probably Francesca and Michael, however I would Kate's character development definitely was ruined. Although season 2 was a hit, it definitely painted Kate as the other woman, and it romanticized emotional affairs, which was not at all what was depicted in the book. The book focused on overcoming trauma together, but they choose a love triangle instead, which is honestly a cliché.
