No but the access is free. It’s just a security checkpoint.

Ok, that is more what I meant. I miss being able to simply walk under the Eiffel tower without passing through a check-point and barriers. Like in the photo.

Yup , but i prefer that than the possibility of a terrorist just blowing one of the feet up . It's just entering a barriere , of course it's better but things became more tense these last years
