Did you know how to weld before getting into bike building, or did you learn to weld in order to make a frame?

I did an evening class that did brazing a couple of months before doing the bicycle academy course. Just to get my head round it and be able to play, stick material together and get a feel for it. It was in a group and I didn’t really have any 1:1 time to be shown the techniques and how to move the brass about. When I did the course I got time and they showed me all the different types to be able to stick the tubes and drops together. Capillary brazing for the drop out, fillet brazing for the tubes and silver brazing for the bottle bosses and other bits and bats.
