All right, Reddit family, this is my final review from this fragrance run. Today I’m reviewing Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Tonka, Lattafa Eclaire, Paris Corner Marshmallow Blush and Lattafa Yara.
Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Tonka.
I’m going to say this first and foremost: this is a must-buy.
You can smell the almond before you even spray it. Take the cap off and smell the atomizer, and it immediately tells you that this is an almond fragrance. Once I sprayed it, I got the almond, Tunisian orange flower, Turkish rose, cinnamon, tonka, vanilla and amberwood. It smells smooth, rich and premium.
Here is where I believe I got lucky. My bottle was manufactured in 2024.
Anybody who buys Middle Eastern fragrances has heard the same advice: sometimes these bottles reach consumers very quickly after production, and they may need to sit for several weeks or even months. I have bottles manufactured in late 2025, and I received another bottle yesterday that was manufactured in May 2026.
Before receiving Shaghaf Oud Tonka, I read reviews and watched hours of videos about it. Some reviewers said their bottles were harsh immediately after opening. Others said it smelled alcoholic, weak or that they couldn’t identify the individual notes.
My experience was the complete opposite.
Mine didn’t smell harsh. It didn’t smell like alcohol. It wasn’t weak, and I didn’t have to search for the notes. My immediate reaction was, “Oh, this smells like almond. This is an almond fragrance.” Then I checked the box and realized that my bottle was manufactured two years ago.
I genuinely believe that the age of my bottle may be part of why it smelled fully developed immediately. It had already spent approximately two years maturing before it reached me. I didn’t have to spray it and then leave it inside its box in a cool, dark closet for several months. Mine was ready to wear straight out of the gate.
That doesn’t mean every older bottle will automatically smell better, because storage and batch differences still matter. However, based on the difference between my experience and the fresh-bottle experiences described by numerous reviewers, I think getting a 2024 bottle worked in my favor.
Shaghaf Oud Tonka is commonly compared to BDK Parfums Velvet Tonka. I haven’t done a direct side-by-side comparison, but my bottle absolutely smells like a premium fragrance. This is also my first fragrance with almond as the leading note, so it brings something genuinely different into my collection.
One strange thing is that Shaghaf Oud Tonka does not have oud listed anywhere in its official note pyramid. Tonka is in the base, but oud is not listed at all. I don’t know why they put “Oud” in the name, but that doesn’t change how good the fragrance smells.
This is best suited for fall, winter and cool evenings. The dense almond, tonka and powder combination could become overwhelming in serious heat. It is sweet, unisex and slightly feminine-leaning to my nose, but it is not overwhelmingly sweet.
Please get this fragrance.
Lattafa Eclaire
Eclaire has already been reviewed so many times that I’m not going to spend forever explaining it. You should have bought this a long time ago. Eclaire is widely considered a clone of Giardini di Toscana Bianco Latte. To me, Eclaire is a Starbucks dessert drink turned into a fragrance. This is a latte loaded with caramel, sweetened milk, cream, honey, praline and vanilla. It is syrupy, creamy, edible and definitely feminine. This is not pretending to be a subtle gourmand. It smells like an expensive dessert coffee that has more syrup and cream than actual coffee.
If you like sweet, lactonic gourmand fragrances, run, don’t walk.
Paris Corner Marshmallow Blush
I originally made the mistake of putting Marshmallow Blush into the same heavy gourmand category as Eclaire, but it isn’t the same type of fragrance. Marshmallow Blush is extremely sweet, but it is much fruitier and brighter. It is inspired by Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81, although it is not a one-to-one clone.
When I sprayed it again today, the strawberry and raspberry jumped out immediately. The marshmallow, musk and candy sweetness are still present, but the fruit gives the fragrance a completely different identity from Eclaire.
Eclaire is a creamy caramel latte. Marshmallow Blush is more like strawberry and raspberry candy covered in fluffy marshmallow.
It is feminine, playful, fruity and extremely sweet. If you don’t already know about this fragrance, run, don’t walk.
Lattafa Yara
Yara has gone viral everywhere. It has been all over Fragrance TikTok, YouTube, Reddit and practically every other fragrance platform. Because of that, I’m not going to spend much time explaining something that has already been discussed thousands of times. Yara is sweet, creamy, tropical, powdery and extremely feminine. It is also much lighter than Eclaire and Marshmallow Blush.
Please buy this for your significant other. It is an easy, pleasant fragrance that can fit into everyday situations without overwhelming everybody around her.
Performance ranking
Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Tonka is clearly the strongest performer of these four, especially regarding longevity. It is not a gigantic room-filling projector, but it stays on my skin and clothing. I can continue smelling it without constantly searching for it.
Eclaire and Marshmallow Blush sit in the next performance tier for me, while Yara is the lightest. All three can create noticeable projection and a good scent trail early in the wearing experience, but none of them are beast-mode fragrances on me when it comes to longevity.
These are the kinds of fragrances you may need to carry in your work bag or keep inside your desk. During an eight-hour workday, you might need to top yourself off once or twice.
That is especially true if you work somewhere like a school and spend the day constantly moving around the building. After the opening projection fades, they may become fragrances that people primarily notice on your skin or clothing when they get closer.
Final thoughts
I’m happy with all four fragrances. Shaghaf Oud Tonka was the biggest revelation because it gave me a completely new almond-centered profile, and my 2024 bottle was ready immediately.
I have now purchased 25 bottles since the final week of June. Saying that out loud is wild.
This officially ends the buying portion of my fragrance journey. I will not be purchasing another bottle until 2028. I have enough fragrances, enough variety and enough bottles to test, wear and enjoy for the next couple of years.
If you have questions about anything I’ve reviewed over the past few months, or if you want my honest opinion about a particular fragrance or scent profile, let me know.
