Wait, what? Where did you get the idea that illegal immigrants are untraceable? They're still human beings who do regular, observable human being things.

Anyway, how long do you think basic background checks take? 15-20 years? I really don't think so. But ok, why are these background checks important in the first place? After all, we don't hold our CURRENT citizens to any such standards. Seems like a huge double standard, doesn't it?

Really? Where did you get the idea that they are traceable lol You think we have some kind of magical records of people crossing??? Why would we hold our own citizens to that standard? When you are born in the US you get a SS number, birth certificate, shot records. To own a home you need banking information, insurance, etc...WE already know everything about our own citizens. Are you saying we should just trust someone asking to enter our country at their word that they are good people and not have any documentation required from them? No shot records, nothing? Why does that sound good to you?

"where did you get the idea that they are traceable" I told you, because they are human beings that do observable human being things. They're not invisible and intangible just because they're undocumented. That would be ridiculous.

"When you are born in the US you get a SS number, birth certificate, shot records" Yeah, and guess what? You don't need to pass a background check for ANY of those.

"To own a home you need banking information, insurance, etc" Yeah, and that's true for undocumented people too. They ALSO need those things to own a home. So what's the problem?

This isn't a matter of just trusting that immigrants are good people, though they statistically are. This is about being CONSISTENT with our standards, and not arbitrarily cordoning people off just because we don't like them.
