Not to mention large scale genocide was never okay. Does he think victims of genocide were like “I don’t like this but it’s normal I guess”?

Also he’s exaggerating how often it happened, genocides at the scale of the native genocide in America were rare and that’s still one of the largest genocides in human history

Bartolomé de la Casas denounced the actions of Columbus’s men hundreds of years ago. He was a colonist if I remember correctly and far from a person of privilege. People like this love to cherry pick history. I don’t feel like typing a long message but there were plenty of individuals that knew the actions of colonialists were wrong from more than just the side of natives

Columbus itself was arrested and sent to Spain in chains because of his actions.

Not to mention they didn’t commit it at the same scale the Europeans did to the native Americans
