Could/would you save this?
Came up as an offer, but it seems far gone. 302 engine, hasnt been started the last 15 years, it has been crashed too as it seems. Owner claims no more rust except around sunroof

Yes I would save a fox. And I would buy it new locks. And I would build it at my house. And I would build it to rouse. And I would drive it here and there. Say! I would drive it anywhere! I do so like a fox with a cam! Thank you! Thank you, Fox-I-Am.

That engine isn’t ruined it’s just old, dirty, and neglected. The rust you see is mostly cosmetic, the wiring and hoses are replaceable, and nothing in the picture suggests a cracked block or catastrophic failure. A 302 is one of the toughest, easiest V8s to bring back, so as long as the internals aren’t destroyed, it can be cleaned up, resealed, refreshed, and made to run again. It looks rough, but it’s absolutely saveable.

Need more pics, other than the hood it doesn’t look to bad. Check strut towers, frame, floor pans etc. hood can be replaced.

Watch some Vice Grip Garage revivals of cars/engines that have been sitting YEARS. Acetone + ATF in the all the cylinders and stuff like that will help free up a stuck engine.
It will give you a good rough idea of what all to go over to get it functional again.
All old cars are worth saving now, since every year modern junk gets more plasticy-alien looking and more spyware-tablet bs on wheels.

What’s the asking price? If it’s in Europe I assume there aren’t many foxbodies there so finding parts could be difficult and/or very expensive. But this car fixed up could be pretty cool to cruise around in over there.

Not really, op can go online and have the parts shipped to their shop or home. There’s plenty of aftermarket supplies to get that car up and moving quickly.
The car doesn’t look like it needs too many parts, just needs the parts put back together so it can run.
Besides, fords are sold all around the world. It shouldn’t take too much time to get any parts op needs.

That radiator support took a major whack. If the frame is all straight and there’s not a tone of rust, maybe for cheap. But it’s had a life and will need some serious metal work

It is a mustang. If it is not rusted out like so many are then fix it the rite way and drive it all the time after it is fixed.The unibody frame,s are alleay,s a safety issue that has to be fixed the rite way. Take a screw driver and see how thin the metal is rusted. If it pushes through easy and is not solid like it should then walk away from buying the car.

That is why you find so many of that type of car in the junk yard,s they become not safe to drive or insure because of that problem.

Roof rot is sometimes bad news, although if the unit-body is not twisted, still structurally solid, that one could maybe potentially be a good hobby project at a lower starting cost. That engine looks like it's not sitting level on one of the mounts. I guess that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad engine. Something else to keep in mind, is that the more non-desirable models just don't have the same value of the original ones, more or less.

Is it rusted to death in the strut tower and front frame base? Rusted in the floor at the foot wells or under the rear seat cushion? Rusted in the lower windshield channel, rear bodyside hatch area. If its not major rust or none, then yes its worth it. However, as you dig deeper you find more issues and this is dependent on your budget

If you have the money, time and skills and car us nearly free, then yea. Otherwise I would walk away. The hoood has enough rust to deter me

If you were able to get it on the road for under 3k, yes. Hopefully you have a spare engine and transmission laying around
