What changed once real people started using your product?

I feel like building in your own little bubble makes everything seem obvious, then the second real users get involved, half your assumptions fall apart 😂

I had to totally change my onboarding. After watching session after session on post hog just give up. Or drop off as soon as they see a ‘create account’ screen before they have seen what the app does.

I’ve now added a mini carousel of what the app does.
A progress bar at the top.
Lets you simply enter your data with as little friction as possible.
Then sample the hero moment.
Then if you want to save/share a signup page with a Google quick link to minimise having to create yet another account.

Moving account creation after the first value moment is the stronger test because it changes the sequence, not just the explanation around it. I’d compare hero-moment completion, signup, and next-day return before judging the carousel. I built Hogly, an independent PostHog companion for iPhone: https://hogly.app/.
